So this hand is interesting, especially after he showed 8 4 off suit for a semi bluff. I didn't want to risk 90% of my chips... but was my fold right with the JJ on that board?

He INSTA shoved, it was so ******* fast!

He flatted the original raise, my bet may have looked like a squeeze, but still, calling 8 4 off suit OOP is just maniac level

I lost a hand last night with AA in the BB (KO tourney) only 6 from the money that would've made me chip leader and would've won me another bounty.... he open shoved for 8 BB's with Q9hh and flop was Q8h6h and i knew i was done.... he turned it

Then next hand i only had 2.5 BB's left, i have 10h4h in SB same guy raises, so its just me and him. He has 89hh, so i'm ahead

Probably my biggest weakness, get really angry when consistent bad luck hits

Generally I play with the idea (its more of a fact really) that one day I'll run worse than what I ever thought was possible, and for as long as I play, theres a day coming where I'll run worse than any other day that I've had already

So when running bad I just kind of shrug and think "well it'll get worse than this"

As you sit here now, you know you'll get Aces cracked by A6, and every other hand, in the most brutal ways the deck can deliver if you play long enough. With that in mind, it doesnt really make sense to get angry when it does happen.

Nobody likes losing all ins as a favourite, its human to get angry, but just get some perspective and understand its part of the game

I also find people over estimate their equity. Getting AA in against 88 you're 80%, which means you're going to lose one of every five. Thats not a lot really. It gets worse in 60/40s etc where people think they should be holding a lot more than what they actually are

And if thinking like that doesnt work, just start getting it in behind!

The Jared Tendler books are awesome for this. If you cant be bothered getting those he's done podcasts/interviews that should be easy to get online where his broad ideas on dealing with tilt are outlined. He has very constructive ways for dealing with tilt - I think if you ask any poker player if they're honest they will say tilt affects them to some degree, it certainly has me in the past.

Was my fold correct? I have an above average stack, larger stack than mine has opened in an early pos, then a supa nova (so obv experienced) has shoved

Still have BB to act and original raiser..... for me, its either fold or shove (in my mind) so i fold, just in case they have JJ or better..... then bam! the river!

But i feel that the fold was the correct move, so not too upset.... thoughts guys?

Was my fold correct? I have an above average stack, larger stack than mine has opened in an early pos, then a supa nova (so obv experienced) has shoved

Still have BB to act and original raiser..... for me, its either fold or shove (in my mind) so i fold, just in case they have JJ or better..... then bam! the river!

But i feel that the fold was the correct move, so not too upset.... thoughts guys?

big stack (44 bb) opens UTG, now depends has he been playing tight / loose? In vacuum assume he is trying to run the table therefore wide range.

Small stack (10bb) shoves.

You in SB with 20 bb with, bb 12 bb and big stack to act.

I'd be isolate shoving pretty much 100% of the time unless the big stack is a total nit. The small stacks will have super wide shove ranges and I'd figure at worst would be flipping. Even if the SB calls, 1010 has above average equity because it can hit straights both ways and it blocks broadway straights.

And if it's only the small stacks calling, well you can't get knocked out either.

So unless the big stack is a nit shove
