Remember people that from recollection Carlton have 17 plus first rounders on their list.

They have what is one of the most accredited AFL side, draft wise, outside of the expansion sides.

Mick himself said he could not see them losing a game.
The
He should have gone and played for Richmond or Geelong, or stayed with the Eagles. I think Judd might be regretting playing on this year.

There is no doubt about that. Judd will be rightly judged as one of the best players of his generation but he dosent appear to have his heart in it at present. Three times he stood and watched Guthrie take marks against him without even attempting to make a spoil or exert any pressure whatsoever. He has never been an overly physical player but it is obvious he is now at the stage where he regards the cause as lost and risking a few bruises as pointless. It's going to be a long next three months for Juddy.

If Carlton trade Gibbs, Murphy & Yarran they'll bottom out harder than Melbourne did. Their list is in almost as bad a shape as Melbourne's was 4 years ago with all the trades and free agents of the last 2 seasons, most of them baffling.

They can't attract good talent as it is and they'll just be seen as the great green whale, a grand old pay day

They might already be bottoming out harder than Melbourne.

Looking at their list, 3-4 years out from now looks shocking. Cripps, Menzel, Yarran, and Docherty are the only ones that seemed poised to be an important part of the team at that point. Solid players, but you're not finishing in the top half of the competition with those four as your best players.

Might as well wait it out to years end, but the problem with them and Malthouse and this is why they should get rid of him is that he never bothered to fix the horrible forward line they have, they easily have the worst in the league. Not one quality target in there.

Malthouse in a pretty stupid move traded Betts and Waite without replacing them. They were domed for failure without them.

If I was coach I'd desperately be looking for some key forwards and quality small forwards.

As well as a replacement for Judd, Cripps looks good though in the wings for that. Actually there is a lot of work to be done on there list all around the ground. I can see holes everywhere. Big job ahead.

They had a decent forward line and made a semi in 2013 and could have beaten the Swans. So Mick did what he was brought into to do. However, gutting the forward line in 2014 was beyond absurd. A few astute trades would have left them in a far better position. But they flogged off Waite and Garlett and that thug hack to Brisbane, lost Betts to agency and moved Yarran into the back line.

Let's not forget the Thomas trade and how that's turned out.

Both for sure. He was by all accounts a sniper of a player and developed into the best bullshit artist in the business.

Will be good for the game when he slithers away to SEN.

Can't happen soon enough. This s**t is disrepute in essendon leagues.
Thought when he was doing media (2012?) he was actually quite good.

Our list is crap, but we have some good players who are certainly under-performing. Gibbs is the biggest one, then Murphy, Henderson and Jamison. Jamison might be excused due to injury, but these players can play a lot better.
At least maybe now it's out in the open that Gibbs has a back injury, christ it's frustrating watching him even as a neutral, especially against Collingwood and last night. Even in the last quarter against the lions he just vanished after 3 great quarters.

Real shame seeing Judd go out like this.

Single handily carried this pathetic club and now he has to experience rock bottom.

He chose Carlton and the money.

Players like Nick Riewoldt on the other hand who's stuck it out, knowing that the Saints won't be playing finals when he could have walked to any club he desired but continued on...now that's the type of player I feel sorry for.

Carlton needs to pull the pin on Malthouse immediately, he has lost the playing group completely and utterly, 35 tackles in a match shows that. Geelong had 50 more possession and laid 32 more tackles last night, if that isn't a sign that the players just don't care then I don't know what is.

As the quote goes "You can't afford to have a wasted year as a professional sporting team as it takes 2 more to get back to where you were before it." Carlton are wasting 2015 and the only thing that will come from it is tell younger players who can get out to get out.

Hypothetically speaking of course, but what is the incentive for Carlton to win games this season?

Why wouldn't you just put the effort into sourcing the best talent in the draft.

For those wanting to remove Malthouse, think about what happened at Melbourne, where they had to get an experienced coach in Paul Roos in to steady the ship.

if Carlton sack Malthouse their are extremely unlikely to be able to get a proven coach which means going down the unproven road but considering the huge task confronting a new coach the Carlton board are probably going to have to give the New coach a 4 or 5yr deal at a higher salary for a new Senior coach just to convince them to take the Job. The board would want to get the decision right to avoid facing a Terry Wallace type situation.

their is no incentive for Carlton to win games but Mick has said he is only coaching for the now and to worry about the future in October and November.

So Judd, Carrazzo and Simpson will hang them up at years end.
God they will be even worse next year.
Nah, they'll waste 50% of their salary cap on 3 new players via trading/free agency, get themselves into the 8, then get back to exactly where they are now in 3 years. Cycle will repeat as long as these "powerbrokers" are there. Shitful club.

I actually don´t like seeing him on the boundary line with the press media zoning in on him
like its his last hurrah, time to be seen on a football ground. Bit sickening like an execution waiting to happen.
Don´t like the bloke but it´s a bit s**t the way the media sets it up knowing the end is nigh.
The bloke has the coached the most games in Australian football. It´s not really necessary to comment on his ever action
like its his last. Give him some respect and let the Blues deal with it the way they think it should go down.

That thug hack at least puts his body on the line and gives a real contest.

its getting to the point where 25% of airtime on some outlets is taken up with this. Every possible angle is hand whingingly gone over ythen they start again

If I was a carlton fan Id be wanting the club to give the media a big FU and just ignore them.

But sureLy the depth and width of thie suggests it is being driven behind the scenes, but who by ?

Stevo ? Eddie ? Does anyone know ?
