George
I think George could have done even better with that advantage than Davids idea.
David is right. The strength in that advantage was choosing who gets to stay and vote. George didn't have an alliance to leave at tribal though, so he needed to find a way to get one.
Should have told...
I do the same. I generally avoid previews and trailers for anything that i think ill watch and isnt live (movies and tv shows alike) and don't understand why everyone lovesknowing what is going to happen. Survivor promos are particularly bad at spoiling the show though.
Fwiw Harry said it took him approx 40 hours to find that idol.
Also not sure if anyone else heard it but David deliverd this ripper line when he stumbled upon the tribe talking about Andy's stuff up at the water well thing: "Fill me in my pedigree chum". He's a dickhead but he says some...
David is really playing it up and it's great. I'm loving that we have had multiple episodes now where we get to see someones spectacular downfall and yet someone irrelevant to the show is voted out instead (Nova instead of Bradbury, Sam and Sarah instead of Andy).
Really feeling sorry for Andy...
Shithouse episode. Editors weren't left with much to deal with:
-Challenges were good, as usual.
-Baden dropping out of shot was great
-Champions losing again was boring
-Clearly nobody talked about the revelation that David lied to the other tribe, or at least it was a boring conversation...
Ok I think we've settled on our Grand Canyon area plan.
Fly into Phoenix from NY, landing before midday. Grab lunch and drive to South Rim, getting there prior to Sunset. Sleep.
Wake up early and check out the Canyon a bit more, aiming to wind it up by 11. (Doesn't sound like we are there long...
Ok thanks.
I think I might propose the following, using the extra night we have up our sleeves.
Land Vegas/Phoenix. Spend that evening there. Sleep.
Drive to South Rim, getting there just after lunch. Spend the rest of the day there (4-5 hours). Sleep.
Drive to Monument Valley, doing tour...
Based on the above and further research I am very interested in both Bryce Canyon and Zion, and now am trying to shoehorn Monument Valley in as well.
Thoughts on each bit:
Bryce Canyon. Like the idea of the Peekaboo walk. Should be feasible, awesome and is not too far out the way.
Zion...
Been doing a lot more research today.
I think I am trying to cram too much stuff into the 6 day patch where i currently have us doing the Canyon stuff, Vegas, and Yosemite.
We are thinking of cutting one of the options, most likely Yosemite. This cuts out approx 13 hours of driving, for one...
Initially i was just trying to find a way to not travel to and from Vegas in one day, and then I figured if we stayed in the area two nights it allows us a full day to try and do as much as possible without having to drive back. Can also see something on the return trip to Vegas.
Not attached...
Planning a fairly ambitious trip over there in October/November.
Will only be 15 days plus flight time.
A rough itinerary atm looks something like
NYC for 6 nights
Fly to vegas, then drive that arvo to Page, stay for 2 nights doing Canyon.
Drive to vegas, stay there two nights.
Drive to...
Anyone been to the Abel Tasman park/Picton/Kaikoura? Is it worth doing these instead of the Southern part of the South Island?
Like the idea of the wineries and wildlife up there and figure the weather will be a little better than further South. Go in in March.
Don't love the champions vs contenders thing but accept it's a reality of australian tv. To get the numbers they need they need celebrities, i just hope similarly to last season it isn't a bunch of radio hosts and second rate comedians looking to restart their careers but rather athletes who are...
Bloody hell that was a crap episode. The entire thing felt like a waste of time, because as long as Sharn and Shane had no more than 1 immunity between them one of them was going home.
What an idiotic vote by Brian, to back up the stupid vote last week where instead of keeping the member of...
Fwiw regarding the low percentages for obvious answers, I did a pointless round for a trivia night once and got all my friends that weren't attending to fill out their answers. You'd be surprised at how few answers some people give and how easily they give up. I suspect for a lot of people they...
Well this show dodged a bullet last night and is precariously close to losing the whole season due to bad casting.
Can't believe they just put Tegan back on the same tribe, perfect opportunity to do a tribe swap. They got lucky that a) she is actually a decent player and b) had a story about...
Not sure how it is an integrity issue. Both sides are in the same position and even if one sides runner is more aware it isn't as if he is whispering to his teams players.
As above, I think the tension and excitement the unknown brings is why it should stay as is. It is one thing to watch your...
I quite liked the free kick differential one, it meant teams could lose a stat instead of winning it which made clos games where a side lacked players in the final game o two of the round more interesting.
We are running with s standard set of score/kicks/handballs/marks/hitouts/tackles with...
Ready Player One
Not a fan.
Believe me I could go on to nitpick almost everything they did.
Overall though it was crap. It's funny moments weren't, I didn't care for any of the characters nor find anyone particularly interesting, and there were numerous examples of lazy or boring writing...
They're humans making split second decisions underneath pressure.
They are operating under directives to do certain things ie. keep the game flowing, be harsh on deliberate etc., some of which have more emphasis put on them week to week.
They may be told to be harsher or more lenient with...
