I did and I'll have a crack at a bit of a report, albeit I could only stay for an hour of actual training - training started at 11.30!
Initially players were split into 2 groups - the main training group and what I would call, for want of a better classification, the rehab group. This group...
Very much like this, however, I think Wilson will be gone by our first pick that will likely be #18 on draft night. I would prefer Windsor, but I think he will be gone as well. I really do like Charlie Edwards! I also like James Leake, who will be thereabouts.
Windsor and Wilson are both beautiful movers, but Windsor has a harder edge. Wilson is purely outside and lacks a contested game at this stage. Windsor is also mainly an outside player, but is a very good tackler, is a good mark, generally uses it ok and is a goalkicker. He is a quintessential...
There were a few of us at training this morning and, even though most of us are on the older side of the ledger, the NAS news elicited a similar response!!! 😁
I would like to echo Enclosed Animal’s thanks to you George for your respectful and heartfelt words in sharing this information with us all!
S66 was a very good friend of mine. I got to know him many years ago through mutual Saints’ supporters and, over the years, our friendship grew to the...
Going by what his Northern Knights coach had to say the other day, consistency seems to be his main issue. I was at training last Friday and he could not have been more impressive in the match sim. However, on Monday it was a slightly different story. Now that he is in an elite system, with...
I read somewhere that he is now 91kg. The 3 NAB League games were in 2021, in his draft year. In 2022, he played 11 NAB League games as an over-ager, after recovering from a syndesmosis injury. It's worth noting that he has a December birthday, so has only just turned 19. Hopefully SOS and his...
Markov had only one training session with the Blues, I believe, after training with the Pies for most of the preseason. The Blues also have Alex Cincotta, a running hbf from their VFL side, training with them. Hopefully that is who they will use to fill their remaining list spot!
The Pou was training but went off limping again (not badly). Hunter Clark also went off looking somewhat unhappy! And Marshall also went off. None of them reappeared!! 😬
I was there yesterday. Paton definitely didn't look good after the head clash with Kyle. Both had blood streaming from their heads; and both went into the rooms for treatment. Kyle returned with his head bandaged, but Paton didn't reappear! Marshall left the track early with what appeared to be...
The aforementioned person, whose name we won't mention for fear of a jinx, was in full training!! Perhaps we can do a Prince thing and call him Symbol...or the player formerly known as....
No - the red jumper brigade seemed to be those that were injured, in rehab or on a restricted training schedule. They were apart from the main group that were in full training. Several, like Howard and Gresham were doing a lot of running. Windhager did some running and some quick handball...
This is Jack Peris' old man. He was a fair unit!! Hopefully young Jack inherited some of those genes and with a couple of pre-seasons in the gym, we may see a completely different Jack from the slight kid he is today....who is still only 17...
Pretty happy with what we got. From the available vision, NWM is silk and getting the NGAs for next to nothing could prove to be an absolute bargain in the coming years. Windhager will be a beast in 2-3 years time. Personally, I think Kyle, given his lack of profile atm, could be the surprise...
Unfortunately NWM hurt his knee at training this morning, after going for a mark and landing awkwardly!! Didn't look super bad....but they iced it straight away (back of knee), then compression sleeve. He was limping noticeably though. 🥺
Providing my maths is correct, we currently have 31 senior listed players. If you add NWM, Owens and Windy, plus the upgrade of Wilkie, we will still have up to 3 senior spots left....plus 1 Cat A rookie spot and 2 Cat B spots - hopefully for Kyle and Peris.
