This Mornings update
Adelaide – No news
Brisbane – Still offering up Charman, the lions figure as did north that if Warnock is worth pick 24, their ruckman is worth a 1st rounder at least. (no takers)
Carlton – Wont budge on pick 24 for Warnock, also believe they are in a good position to pick up O’Keefe in the PSD if a trade isn’t done, the only problem is the 5 clubs in front of them.
Collingwood – Want Green but not willing to trade 1st round pick.
Essendon & Geelong – Original trade Lovett & 4th round for Prismall & 3rd round rejected by the cats. Still expect a deal to be done, quite possibly with Essendon paying ¼ of Lovett’s contract.
Fremantle – Focusing on Warnock at the moment, preferring the Melbourne pick 17 option. Not worried about J Carr atm a deal most likely to be last minute for a high pick.
Hawthorn – Still in the best spot for O’Keefe, Clarkson spoke to him yesterday and has talked him into taking a lower pay should be done soon. No interest for S Taylor.
Melbourne – Don’t want to part with Green for nothing, may trade him to Sydney for pick 16.
North Melbourne – McIntosh is now off the table and the roos a little red faced, still pushing for a deal for Harris and Jones.
Port Adelaide – Winner out of the Thompson deal also expect to get Carr for practically nothing.
Richmond – All quiet after the Thompson deal, no news on Seaby and the Bulldogs are looking at Schultz
St. Kilda – No News
Sydney – Still keen on Lovett however doubtful, have changed their focus to Green.
West Coast – Possible Ray for Hansen direct swap, clubs are unwilling to trade player for player as they get compared years later, likely to include picks.
Western Bulldogs – Chasing a forward, Hall, Schultz or Hansen with the latter for Ray being the most likely.

i agree, port are the winners from that deal. third round draft pick in a deep draft. Theres still gonna be alot of talent around come pick 42. we should just keep all our picks unless we can geta ruckman with our third.

Getting Schultz or Hansen will immediately make the Dogs a better team, coupled with a better injury run for Williams it sounds good for the Dogs.
i dont' agree. there is absolutely no guarantees about late picks, may turn out to be spuds anyway. the sports 927 people are basing their opinion on the fact that thomson hasn't played much this past year. Well, that doesn't mean much IMO, simply that fact they want to add more legs and speed into their midfield throughout the year instead of having an in and under mid in there.
just a team set up problem. We could do with more in and unders as we're set in the pace/run and carry department

WTF are you talking about? When did anyone mention Goodes??You should delete right now that adam goodes is overated. He is definitely not, he has won 2 brownlows and thats 2 more than ablett or corey will ever win. He didn't even make our clubs top ten best and fairest, yet he made top 5 for Brownlow. He is not overated he is an amazing player.
Anyway, you think Brownlow medals are a good indication of skill?? Obviously not, because Goodes has 2 and he is nowhere near that good. For example, Goodes beat Bartel in this year's brownlow, but I don't think you'll find one person that will prefer Goodes to Bartel.

So if Goodes & Bartel were both up for trade today, you're saying that teams would opt for a very talented one dimensional player (Bartel) over a bloke that can kick 8 goals injured as a key forward, can run, carry & offload the ball faster then many smaller then he, & can defend brilliantly when called upon (Goodes). Not to mention, he won his first brownlow as a ruckmen & the following year, he played every game whilst both knees were shot, needing ops on both at seasons end.

i'll get accused of being biased, but surely Lovett offers Sydney more of what it needs than Green? He has had off-field issues to be sure, but his pace, run and carry would give sydney a dimension that they don't currently have. Green is a good player, but not a game-breaker, and would simply blend in with the run-of-the-mill sydney prototypes. I'd be surprised if Sydney rated Green worth Pick #16, but if they do then Lovett would be of at least equal value to their structure.

you are delusional. condense Bartel into a throw-away "talented" line, but expand upon every possible detail about Goodes? Since you were in such an expansive mood, why didn't you go on to mention how often Goodes has performed questionable acts on the field, or how he's developed a habit of sniping guys from behind, or how his season was actually quite putrid and earned the ire and wrath of his coach?
pffft, you can extole Goodes undoubted talent and ability all you want, but if both were available right now, at least half the clubs would choose bartel. probably more.

So the story is that the Bombers wanted to give Lovett and 55 for Prismall and 49, but that Cats refused?
That says to me that the either Cats are serious about getting some usable draft compensation for Prismall, or that pick 49 is a live pick. Or both.
I wonder whether they've looked at adding Tenace to the deal - I know the Bombers have been keen on him since 2004, when they realised that taking Kepler Bradley in front of him in the 2003 draft was a serious mistake - and upgrade to the Bombers' third rounder. So it would be Lovett and 39 in return for Prismall, Tenace and 49.
Even better, you could do it with a swap of 2nd round picks: Lovett and 23 in return for Prismall, Tenace and 33. Now that is a good trade for both clubs.
why would we want Tenace. He is in the same category as Keps - a wasted high pick who has shocking disposal. We don't want guys who can't kick.
The issue Geelong have is that Prismall has walked - Lovett on the other hand is under contract. not saying we should screw you, but that Lovett is worth more than a fringe player who yhas done his knee. The guys I would take from Geelong, well you won't part with them which is fair enough. so it will come down to whether Geelong take something like Lovett and 4th for Prismall and your 3rd rounder, or you strike a deal elsewhere or he has to walk.
