For sure both Nathan and BIG Ben G. Who for his first season did not look out of place at all. I can't remember the game but his long bomb goal from about 50 was effortless to look at and absolutely "Delicious" !!

That was the game that he got injured in, I remember it specifically because it was the first time he looked even slightly comfortable out on the field.

Hmm not so sure Spluffy. Well, he kicked a set shot bomb from outside 50 against the Swans, which I think is what TJ was referring to.

Against the Dockers, just before he got injured, he kicked an effortless goal on the run from about 45.

Dimma mentioned a few things recently about Big Ben. Basically he said :
The only reason we got BB is he had dodgy shoulders.
The RFC knew he was going to do his shoulders at some point, just not when.
This meant they knew he was basically destined for reconstructions.
DH said that young players who have this injury, generally are able to adapt to the re-construction (presumably reduced mobility???) and are able to play well. In a nutshell it's unlikely he will have any further problems from them.
As a result they just wanted to get as many senior games into him last year before he did them so he could get his mind around playing senior footy.

Interesting and yet odd at the same time.
Basically, recruit a guy knowing full well that he is going to blow-out his shoulders very early so that they can then be operated on, repaired and then we get the best out of him.

Very "we can rebuild him"...

Yes, I guess that's one thing that can separate the great recruiters from the good ones. I.e. the ability think beyond the issues and work out who not only has talent but will be good in 1,2, 5 years....

Where/when did Dimma say this, Glitch?

I think it was the one against Freo Dea_Day b'cos he was on the move. He just looked so composed and liked he'd done it 100 times before. That kined of self belief & composure is priceless coming from an 18 yr old, well thats just cream on the cake. Cos he shows he has it in him to perform on the big stage, as he matures he will be more consistant with which gets me excited for the RFC & FANS.:thumbsu:

Was speaking to a guy at Punt rd today and he was saying Griffiths had bulked up alot. Said he's having no problem with the shoulder recovery while doing weights :thumbsu:
Also said Astbury was huge and looked definate key position size already

Thanks MadTiger this is definately music to my ears (even though I read it to myself). 2 players who I really liked the look of this season even although I know their still young.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Wondering how Nathan Foley is travelling & whether he'll be fit & firing before R1. Geez, we've really missed his explosive runs through the middle!

EFA.

That goal he scored where he ran out of the middle, did a full circuit of the centre then kicked the goal is one of my all time favourites haha. We were warding the replay for weeks

Tiger_Stripes do you know if the footage can still be viewed on the inet or could you put it on if you still have it??? Always good to see stuff like that, keeps the spirits up. Cheers:thumbsu:

SA TIGER, I think I read it on the BPOND site as an update that Nathan is back running & Big Ben G is also looking good (Bigger) and both are tracking for round 1. Reasonably sure that's what was said. Sounds good to me if that the case.:thumbsu:

Great news for both our boys. Imagine the impact Foley will have with our current crop of young midfielders by mid season! Young Martin & Cotchin will be salivating at the thought of playing with Axle in 2011.

Lets wish them the best, hope they stay healthy & can both put in a solid preseason, with the best possible foundation for 2011.:thumbsu:
