St Kilda star Sam Fisher belted unconscious at Southbank's Eve nightclub

when it was pointed out to you that a Collingwood player was there also....

You still go on about the club I support?

Perhaps you should just admit that in your haste to have a go at St Kilda, you missed the part in the article that a Collingwood player was at the same venue.

I am also on record as saying that I haven't seen any evidence that this person's infatuation with St Kilda is over, and wouldn't be surprised to see her continue her campaign.

Are you a fool? I already answered you query about that. You asked in Post 37 and I replied in post 40.

It is not alright for a Collingwood player to be there.

Fortunately for the Collingwood player, he wasnt injured at all.

Someone said earlier... Maybe the Saints are just unlucky. But you make your own luck, hey?

A different Venue might be the St Kilda Footy Club where maybe he wont find himself in a situation like this. But the St. Kilda football club would probably close at a responsible hour so that wouldnt be an option.

the footy club?

it's not suburban footy anymore. and who the hell wants to drink at their work?

Absolutely. He should also have not been there. What is wrong with these blokes?

They go away thinking "Geez, all I wanted was a good night out".

Fact is, although they have the same rights as everyone else, they probably cant do that at this moment of their lives. They sign the contract and by doing so (and although there is nothing in the fine print to those contracts), they sign away some rights that they rest of us take for granted.

Its a fact of being an AFL player. It clearly doesnt happen to everyone that ventures out after dark, but I would say that if you are a St Kilda player at this point in time, trouble will find you because for every person that thinks they have copped it rough, there are 10 others that think they might be able to help make it a bit rougher.

Agree 100%

Dont think that AFL players are professional enough in their preparation for games - And they aren't the most intelligent species on earth.

for the cheap women?

Pot kettle Black.

And this why AFL players will continue to create media headlines - Chasing loose women.

Haven't they learnt from the KD affair ?

I don't think so?

Maybe I am, but I still think you are blissfully unaware of the irony in your posting.

If you broadened your scolding to AFL players in general who frequent night clubs, rather than St Kilda specific, then maybe people wouldn't think you are such an opportunist poster that's sole purpose is to troll an opposition club.

You obviously think it's not OK for AFL players to be out two weeks before the season commences, see it's not hard to state an opinion without the sarcastic digs at other clubs.

....however I am obviously interrupting, please continue.

Yep, because a bigfooty poster says that what his sole purpose was for being there, it must be true.

Krusden, see what you've done now! ;)

I would have thought the last chance to go out would be the final nights of their annual leave.

No-one is blaming the victim here. Answer this question for me:

If Sam Fischer was at home, would he have been involved in an incident like this? If he was at a friend's/team mate's home, would he have been involved in an incident like this?

To think that players are only going to go out during the 6 or so weeks they get for annual leave is pretty unrealistic. Most will go out the rest of the year as well especially during the off season. Even if they only went out during their annual leave incidents like this one can still happen.

It's also unrealistic to expect them to only socialise at their club or at friends or teammates houses.

To be completely fair, The Saints did a good enough job of it themselves. They provided the Hun and Age with plenty of material.

You mean the attention seeking lying little mole provided the Hun and the Age with plenty of material (most of which was bullshit) and they beat it up into scandals to help sell papers.

Lol at all the 'why was he out there'.

Sorry for using Collingwood as an example, but I did see a couple of comments from Pies supporters, and they have easy examples to target. What about Shaw, Shaw and Didak being out in the middle of the season?? Surely that is worse then being out 1 week before the season, in the middle of the Moomba festivities.

I thought Fisher was smarter than putting himself in such a position. Sadly the party boy culture that sits with St. Kilda, seems quite true.

Also on that same night when Mr Party Boy was out, within the same venue was Dale Thomas, Dayne Beams, Sharrod Wellingham, Heath Shaw and Mr Perfect Dane Swan.

What happened to the curfew?

They were traded, suspended for the year, and suspended for the year respectively.

I think they paid the price, dont you?

Well Hooley Dooley and blow me down!

Someone knows what Im talking about!

I would consider it pretty poor to judge a person and several hundred of his demographic, based on his presense in a night club.

Personally I can recall being almost physicially dragged to a nightclub I had no wish to attend, by a member of the opposite sex.
Now I realise that the experience obviously caused my IQ to plummet.

Rhyce Shaw still plays for Collingwood?

You raise a good example. Didak & Shaw were both sanctioned & I'd say that instead of the club covering up for them, they admitted fault, were disciplined & the club turned the corner in that regard. St. Kilda meanwhile continue to refuse to accept responsibility.

Repsonsibility for? What for daring to attend a nightclub because there were feral Collingwood players there?

I think Didak, Shaw and Co did a bit more that just attend a nightclub when they got in trouble.

The difference is that Shaw and Didak actually did something wrong, ie. getting in an accident and then lying to cover it up. They weren't suspended just for being out in a club and being the innocent victim of an attack like Fisher was.

Even then Collingwood only took action against Shaw and Didak when their lie about Didak not being involved was exposed so don't make out that Collingwood are beacons of virtue.

Responsibility for their actions.

Almost immediately, St. Kilda have pardoned Fisher's incident. How about completing an investigation? I know the world is a big bad place, but do people go around king hitting others for no apparent reason/motivation? It takes 2 to tango.

No doubt but they put themselves in the situation by being on the booze & DRIVING AROUND PISSED late at night in the first place. The sanctions have turned their career around & they rarely (if not at all) put themselves in the one Fisher encountered .

Yep investigation complete - clear, arent you in the loop?

Except plenty of people are able to have a drink or 5 and not commit any crimes or even do anything stupid.
You have to do the stupid stuff to put yourself in the situation.
