Been done to death in the Pies board but there is only one choice IMO and that is Scott Burns. The only perceived negative is the irrelevant fact that he’ll only play 1 or 2 more years. Why you want a lesser captain this year because you can’t have him next year has me beat though. Burns is far in front of anyone else as a candidate there isn’t a second place.

Lockyer is a beauty. Would be a great captain until the younger Pies are ready for the added responsibility.

Heath shaw, he's hard at it, looks like he'll play 200+ games and young enough to captain for a decade.

love the way nicky maxwell plays but is he actually that good of a player? i know he's renewed for laying that greta tackle on max rooke in the prelim but he got 6 possies for the match!

Collingwood are in a position that clubs find themselves in from time to time.
To be honest, no-one at the club would be a top captain. After great captains like Shaw and Buckley you just have to wait for another one to come along.
Burns would have everyones respect but he IS nearly finished.
Fraser and Lockyer would be laughing stocks from other club supporters.
Rocca was pushed into leadership by Mick but that experiment didn't last long. No.
Maxwell, good trier but a bit like Vanderburgh. Not a top candidate.
Can't think of anyone even near worthy.
And before anyone pounces that was just my honest appraisal.

Burns - Leads by example
I love burnsy but I don't want a one year captain, I'd like to see a long term captain appointed. I feel like it would be a token gesture and not in our best interest in the long run.
Mabee they shoud have a rotating captaicy for a year, feel the young guys out?
Anyway, captains these days, are just glorified coin tossers!

Every time i hear a Pies player interviewed Nick Maxwell's name comes up - even Bucks said he was the perfect candidate. Maybe not the same high profile as the others , but apparently a natural leader.
Totally agree... so far in front of other candidates it is not funny.
