It makes North's win all the more impressive.

Troll all you like you dropkicks. Petrie puts in his share and if that 'game defining tackle in the last quarter' was what seperates him from playing in a North jumper then a Port jumper...I'll take that every week.
Don't confuse him with the other bloke who is REALLY STRUGGLING.
As for cardboard cut outs ?
try the Essendon coaching box......who in thier right mind would play so negative when thier team needs that 'fightback' in a even balanced game to leave Jimmy Hird in the backline (on Rawlings)
Pffffft !

Drew has more talent in his left nut than Mark Bolton and he should be ashamed of his performance.

Fair call confidence is absolutely shot... but like woodson said the boy never stopped trying... but a week or two at Port may do him the world of good...

I think clubs should use their reserves or VFL clubs to greater use... what would it hurt for Drew to spend a week or two at Port... murder a hack or two... and return to seniors full of confidence... also it give Hale a game in the seniors... but then who am I... I could be wrong... but then only to a fellow North boy...
I generally like the way he plays, and think he's a great talent.Originally posted by Tas
Drew has had a very forgettable 2004. In a couple of games he has got to the ball but he must be taking reading the play lessons from McKernan because he isn't getting to the ball and isnt presenting a viable target up forward.
He has a lot of potential, just having a very bad year.
Who knows, he may be able to turn things around. Having our two young ruck/forawds injure themselves AND McKernan giving us nothing has not really left us with a lot of options.
I'm sure he will come good... I hope.![]()

I'm very happy to have him, not matter what you guys say.
He might not be in his best form, but gave a good contest in the ruck and made a crucial tackle.
He will only get better and definitely boasts leadership qualities.
Meh. Mckernan ,Ottens and Thompson are pretty good ruckman though.Petrie can't even do that. Good to see the commentators finnally recognising the most over rated player in the league.Originally posted by Shooter
That's what happens when you try to turn backup ruckman into key forwards. They just can't deliver often enough. McKernan, Ottens, Thompson are examples as natural ruckmen who were turned into key forwards by desperate clubs, only to stagnate. The same is happening to Petrie.
