There is only one Richmond

That's why we get talked about.

That's why there is so much written about us.

That's why we have so many supporters.

That's why we have so many Richmond haters.

Face it, no matter how much money a club has, how many media moguls they have as president, no matter how many premierships they win, none have the fame or notoriety of the Richmond football club.

Nor will they ever have.

Richmond don't have as many premierships as Carlton, but who is talking about the blues?

We don't have the Sheedy supercoach, but who is writing article after article about Essendon?

We don't have the millions of Collingwood, but who has been discussing their off season lately without yawning?

...but mention the 'R' word and watch the opinions flow, the papers sell and the sparks fly.

Excellent thread and very true. Richmond supporters should be proud to support such a great club and one of the big clubs. It is always good for the game when Richmond are doing well, and hopefully Plough can get them going in the next few years.

Just because people are talking about you, poking fun at you, mocking you, generally degrading your very existence does not make Richmond a famous club.

Infamous perhaps, pathetic definitely.

There was a time some 2 decades ago when Richmond was genuinely famous. Respected even. Since then, and 12 senior coaches on - your club is a rabble and a laughing stock.

You are right - You dont have Essendon's premierships or Carlton's money or Collingwoods intellectual supporter base....let me get back to you on Collingwood

But you know what i mean - what we all mean.

Perhaps if your various club leaders and managers could pull their collective heads in and get on with the job rather than mouthing off at every opportunity then you may have a chance at finding some peace.

The problem is Richmond fans and the club still think they are in 1980. You are no longer one of the big 4 in the AFL, that title belongs to Essendon Collingwood Adelaide and West Coast.
