So the Eagles will be forced to sack Ben to try and salvage some long lost dignity out of this saga.

And the AFL will probably ban him for say a one year period (maybe more who knows).

Hypothetically speaking if he wants to return to footy in a years time, how many clubs would be interested in him?

I think a fair few would give him some serious thought.

Opinions?

In a year's time this guy won't be fit enough to play lawn bowls :eek:

Would be 30 years old. Could be an attractive proposition for a club looking to add some cream to the cake, but the downside could be enormous, especially amongst sponsors who would be very wary of seeing a player with his reputation added to the list.

I'd hope that Hawthorn would pass.

I'd take him for our club. But only on the condition that he really had cleaned up his act, and decided to be a good role model for our youngsters.

Lets not forget he's a Premiership player and Brownlow Medalist. A champion footballer, but terrible citizen.

It's not looking good that he can change his ways.......and the game is worse off, without his onfield performances.

If he was clean and committed to staying clean, and had severe restrictions imposed on him, I would have no problem if the Hawks picked him up, (although maybe in the current climate it would not be a good match).

He is an extremely talented footballer, and with his level of fitness, could easily have 2-3 years left in him.

I am biased, he is one of my favourite players and I love watching him play.

funny how people have been sinking the boot into us for letting him play again yet if hes available some will all jump to the occasion to pick him up, hypocrites

funny is the way your club is trying to waesel out of getting sanctioned by the afl once more. can't you just for once take it on the chin like men and not turn it in to one big political diversionary tactic????

I disagree, I think the eagles had to make a stand and sack him because he broke team rules, the law and burnt the team when they showed faith in him. They did what they had to do.

If he were to start at another club, all of that theoretically colud be left at the door, and if he joined a new club following sanctions etc etc they would be taking a risk but on someone that has never let them down.

West Coast had to end their relationship.
