Good to see. From what I've seen there's enough there that he's got as good a chance to make it as any other rookie pick. Suspect he'll be trained as a small back. Hopefully Judd McVee as his mentor not Salem.

Love a father and son, welcome SOD, loved his old man, got the absolute most out of himself as a player, get similar vibes from Kynan. A lot of Lachie Hunter about the way he plays. Think hes a far better user than most give him credit for, not a damaging kick by any means but a smart user who knows his limitations.

 
He played a couple if games for Casey( TV) , hope it pans out for him , one thing I noticed was he isn’t scared to put his head over the ball . Welcome.

Agree, looks like a solid player for the rookie list. May not have the biggest ceiling but seems a hard worker who wants to get the best from himself

Pretty good numbers at multiple levels this year:

Son of 146-game former Demon, Nathan, Kynan Brown is tied to Melbourne as a potential father-son selection. The midfielder enjoyed an extremely consistent season, being a key cog for both the Oakleigh Chargers and Vic Metro, winning the Metro best and fairest for his reliability around stoppages and in the contest. Although only slightly framed, Brown’s commitment to winning the ball at the coalface is remarkable, often doing the dirty work that allows other teammates to shine on the outside. He’s happy to quickly release the handball to runners, but just as capable of bursting away himself or chaining possessions through repeat running efforts.

Brown is also a strong tackler when you consider his frame, regularly latching on to opponents and bringing them to ground regardless of their size, averaging five tackles per game all season, including seven across his two VFL appearances for Casey. With the bulk of his work done on the inside, Brown’s does have a gap between his best and his worst kicking displays, possessing a penetrating left boot nonetheless. Whichever club lands him in November will be working on ways for him to bring it into the game more often. He has also spent time rotating forward this year and kicked a bag of five goals against Northern in Wildcard Round, so may find a home in attack at the next level.

Good luck to the kid, annoying that all our father sons apart from Viney fall into the probably not good enough to make it but give em a go anyway range. Woey, Farmer, Brown etc. no other club including us would look at them without the name attached

Don't see him playing next year. Will need a couple of pre-seasons you'd think.

Got White coming up next year or the year after. Just in time for the rules to change too lol.

Made the AA team for his age bracket this year.

That surprises me. Unless his dad was choosing the AA team I don't know how a player manages their way into an AA team if they're not even good enough to get drafted. Would have to be an extremely shallow draft for something like that to happen.

A 16-year-old, 197cm beanpole making the AA team in a position that isn't ruck is a good sign tbh. Has so much time to fill out still and imagine his skills will only improve as he gets used to his size more – maintaining a good level of coordination would be tough when you're going through constant growth spurts like he is.

Maybe, if you wanna be pessimistic you could say there's * all competition at that height for those positions
