I was watching the replay of this race last night i must say im very happy with all runners i backed here (considering they were all $23+). Just some of the notes id taken on my runners:

1ST - SMOKIN JOEY - read the race well, race run to suit swoopers. 1600m group form stands up well in races like this, strong tempo/need to be able to run a strong 1200 right out/SWAPs/handicaps. Follow in such races even when appears to be negatives i.e.: poor form, track conditions (never won on a slow or worse track before yesterday) My second biggest bet/best result in this race.
5TH - READY TO RIP - very good run, sat wide (with cover though) loomed at the top of straight and battled away to the line well (ran the trip out no worries, think could be a better 1400m horse these days?), just doesnt quite have the turn of foot he once did. Slow track or worse always a positive.
6TH - KARACATIS - this run was the best in the race, clearly should have run a place and clearly would have been right in the finish. Sat back last. Went looking for runs between runners at the top of the straight, was cut out, horse throwing his head everywhere, absolutely flew once got room. Identified previous run vs Essay Raider was just as good as the winner (worse part of the track and kept coming on line) and got a +$20 price in my favour. If rider had just gone wide with SJ maybe wins?
14TH - PAGO ROCK - went for a run at top of the straight but was cut out and had to go back to worse part of the track (inside), didnt throw the towel in but battled to the line, think the jockey may have sat a touch close on this horse here. A strong tempo 1200m see's him out at this level, best runs are when he is jagged out the back and ridden totally cold. Good barrier may have been a hindrance more than a help.

Also add that i was happy with my assessment of two horse that were in the market that i said cant win:
MIRACLES OF LIFE (16TH) and UNPRETENTIOUS (7TH) for varying reasons.

3/6, garbage week from me, with two of my bigger three bets losing. Burgoyne bet not so good, still maintain the Masten one was correct. Rosa playing loose man in defence in the first half got him over the line 99 -93. In a 188 point score line you would think Masten kicks one goal as well?

Took this bet at half time, had all the makings of a very open 2nd half, only needed 97 points to cover it, seemed a gift from Sportsbet, it was just that, regret not putting more on this.
