I actually rate Dew but it’s getting harder and harder to defend him. They don’t have enough A graders.

Remember when the suns and giants started off? So many people said they’d have X amount of flags between them within a decade. One GF appearance between them in about 13 years. And with that, the suns haven’t made finals once.

Dew is their third coach and his sacking is being discussed with most likely no finals again.

Club is going nowhere.

Clearly it’s a coaching and developmental issue. Ross Lyon can walk into St Kilda and have them 4-0. What the hell is happening at the Suns?

Failing that, the best case scenario is probably something like a Hinkley/Yze combo.

Really they need a big leader who can get out the ego's and stop the choking with a hungry assistant who's a good tactican/developer on side. But other than a hail mary on Hardwick, who is that guy?

St Kilda going so early on Ratten hurts but I do think they went too premature on Dew. Although I think the idea of sacking him for Lyon in 2022 reeks of hindsight bias, they would've been mocked hard if they did so back then. Clarko o/c another story but was he that keen?

You're assuming that Ross Lyon would have wanted to go to the Gold Coast to coach them.

Maybe if they offered him a boatload of cash he might have but the Suns aren't really an attractive proposition with so few supporters and playing home games in front of a mostly empty stadium. That's probably why so far they have had untried coaches apart from Eade who was over the hill as a coach.
