Tru Blu Entertainment announced today that the AFL Live Game of the Year Edition will be released on 12 July, 2012 on PC, as well as the PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® and Wii™ consoles. Developed by Australian Game Studios Big Ant (AFL Live for Xbox 360 and PS3) and Wicked Witch (AFL Wii), the game includes the dynamic gameplay and feel of both these titles as well as updated team lists and on-field uniforms for the 2012 season, the new Skoda Stadium and the ability to play as competition newcomers – the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

“The AFL Live Game of the Year Edition is an exciting offering to AFL fans, allowing them the chance to influence their team’s performance and lead them to a Premiership victory.” said Jessica Hatz, AFL Licensing Manager. “It’s an incredibly realistic AFL experience and a must have game for anyone who loves their AFL”.

It seems they will be releasing this as a full game on July 12th as well as an update for the original AFL Live including 2012 rosters and content on June 6th - Just a week away.

We now know the dlc contains the 2012 roster update plus gws and skoda stadium. But apparently this new repackaged game does too.

It's unclear if this new game will come bundled with any new features or weather it's just the dlc plus the previous game in one.

Game of the Year Edition normally means the origianl game included all released DLC, so it's unlikely the new game will include anything the DLC doesn't.

But all of that (now) wasted time creating and editing every single player to match 2012 rosters... oh well.

I wonder if they'll add any new achievements with the DLC. I'm guessing not.

Also does the content in the DLC overwrite all content already in the game. For example if we have custom teams or edited squads, will they be reset? Or will it be like separate game mode "AFL Live 2012" Is the 2011 season mode still playable and is the 2012 season playable? Sorry for all the questions, but im just that pumped!

I'm confident that BA were professional enough to edit existing player rankings. I mean, to be considered the 2012 rosters it'd be essentially mandatory to get those rankings as accurate to the 2012 season as possible.

Is there a free patch as well as the DLC, or are you referring to the patch from last year?
