The next stat we'll be covering in our series "Relevant or Not" is total disposals differential. Does having the qootball in your possession help you win matches?

Let's find out.

If we plot disposal differential against score differential, there seems to be a pretty decent correlation (0.71) - just below strong.

It appears Allan Jeans' amazing theory "If you have the ball, your opponent doesn't, and if your opponent doesn't have the ball they can't score." is legitmate.

So having the ball is good?

Turns out kicking the ball is good. Hand balling it is mmmkay (like drugs aren't)

This is amazing. Who'd have thought keepings off was actually a thing
I tried playing keepings on once. They just run away with your ball. It's stupid.
