Are you sure it wasn't just the variance of one player getting a run of cards while both players are sub 40 bb?
Nope, unfortunately he picked me off slowly over the course of 15 minute rather than variance. Still a great learning experience though.
So put a small part of my rapidly dwindling 888 roll on Stars and started playing 16 NL last few days to see if my run bad was site-specific (!!).

Not bragging for my self.
Have a very close mate who loves poker also travelling the states, he arrived in Vegas not long ago and he is usually just a cash player.
He entered a 215 plus rebuys tourney during late rego to miss the chaotic stages of gamblers.
After 11 hours of play came in 7th for $1400.
Would be one of his first live tournaments I reckon so I think it is a great achievement.

This was what I thought: most pairs/Ax raise pre/get it in on the flop with that stack and even if he got sticky with those on the flop a paired 5/2 chcks river all middle pairs look to get to showdown cheaply as well as does Ax that whiffed the board. Also the size of the bet on the river screams steal given he left himself with chips behind - if he has a 7 he's shoving it in. Also I block KJ and QJ and K high beats a ton of his range that gets to the river that way given his limp/calls through the hand then all of a sudden bet the river. Typical passive/aggro line taken in small BI tournaments by a lot of players who get to the river and realise they have no showdown and now should bluff.
I take it the whole hand looks fishy to you?

but then again, i'm not flat calling 108s with 17 BB left from the CO. raise, dry flop, delay c bet = profit

Not sure how he is calling my 4 bet with 33, nor how he can possibly call my bet post flop....But he did
