Jeepers. Best list of 44 we have had.

Only GWS will be better than us.
No Hibberd anywhere? And it looks like Mountford is the new Harper?

2016 NMFC unleashes... Grandfathers army.

We could play the theme song from Dad's Army when we play Essendon that year - would seem appropriate.

B: Wright Tarrant Nielson

HF: Garner Waite Harvey
F: Thomas Petrie Brown
Foll: Goldstein Cunnington Jacobs
Int: Ziebell Atley. Dal Santo Daw

Might be too top heavy with Daw, but depends on how the coaches wish to use the forward/ruch set up. Im predicting that by seasons end, Nielson will have passed by Firrito's spot, which will actually hold us in good stead for the coming years, as he develops. I also suspect that LMac will be in the team soon, and I would play him if Daw was out. I think Gibson might finally be overtaken, because the depth is getting to be too strong to keep playing him. I would love Wells in the team, but think he might not be in the team in R1. Maybe by R3.
Thoughts?

That was hard!
Notes:
-Firrito could come in for Dal. We need size and hardness down back but we also need Dal's skills. Nicky is my tip to drop away this year though. Spud comes in for finals and wet weather games.
-Think we need another genuine tall defender and should move Thomo into Spud's role.
-Garner, Anderson and Thomas represent some serious skill, smarts and pressure think the addition of the former two to the side should increase our scoring greatly.
-Don't know if we can afford to play two taggers all year. Like McDonald or Dumont to come in for Gibson eventually.

After much consideration, I'm pretty confident this is our best 22 at round 1:

Ray - Gibson - Ray
Gibson - Ray - Gibson
Ray - Gibson - Ray
Gibson - Ray - Gibson
Ray - Gibson - Ray
Gibson - Ray - Gibson - Ray

No sub means we need the good runners in teh side and this team has gut runners for days.

Is that the NM All Australian whipping boy side?

North's 2016 team largely picks itself, but a few tough calls had to be made. I was mindful of the need for generational change in picking Luke McDonald over Michael Firrito in defence. Firrito had a very solid 2015 season and, injury aside, will probably play most games next year, but McDonald is a class act and should bounce back to his best after a disappointing second season. Similarly, I have favoured former Hawk Jed Anderson, 21, over Sam Gibson, 29, for a spot on the bench, also mindful that the Northern Territorian offers more speed and class. I have backed Lindsay Thomas to get back to his best after an injury-disrupted 2015, giving him the nod over fellow small forwards Kayne Turner and Robbie Nahas. The Roos will be keen to blood their 2014 and 2015 draftees where possible next season, but the likes of Sam Durdin, Daniel Nielson, Ben McKay and Ryan Clarke are unlikely to establish themselves as senior regulars. I also sense North will give Aaron Black every opportunity to re-establish himself in attack in 2016. – Nick Bowen

No Dal Santo. Not sure he will be happy playing at Werribee.
