As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

Someone please articulate to me why we wouldn’t have a crack at Treloar contract aside.

Does he have behavioural issues?

We need a ready made mid who can break lines and run all day.He fits that mould.

Collingwood has agreed to pay a portion of his salary next year. Next year is the lowest year of his contract, ~450. After that he still has 4 years on 900.
There are question marks over his hamstring. But the bigger question marks will be over how his contract will hamstring our list build.

Give Dildoro the ultimatum, if nothing is finalised by Monday morning, we will call Dildoro's bluff...
  • Offer Pick 8 for Pick 18 & 19 Lions
  • If Dildoro matches they burn pick 7 and have a worse draft hand
  • We can then demand Pick 19 back
No more Mr Nice Guy, start flexing our muscles...
FACTS Dildoro
  • Has to use 2 x first rounders at the draft over next 2 years and they only have 3
  • Want's Dunkley which will cost 2 x Firsts
  • GWS want top 10 pick for Caldwell
  • Saad declined to stay again
We offered fair value and they declined. Time to stop playing games, start looking after Carlton and getting other deals done...

If it is going to end up being for Pick 8 only, I would wait until the last couple of minutes before deadline to accept...
No more helping the self entitled flog Dildoro, hold our nerve make him sweat and miss out on his other deals...

If it wrecks all of trade period it would be pretty awesome :thumbsupv1::grinv1:

Does anyone see Hawthorn as a threat for Treloar? Their list is a shambles, and I would have thought Treloar would want to go to a club that is at least in contention to play finals.

I want us to get Treloar at the right price.

Though, I can see Sydney or gws finding room for him

Props for the pun at the end. Smart move by us but really need Dow or another to step up like Setters in 2021 to show they belong.

Please tell us if there's any truth that we're considering to put our future first on the table now?

Are the Pies at Dodo levels of crazy? Who the hell wants to take on a $900k contract for 4 extra years?

Pies will need to spin a good story to sell a guy at that price with hamstrings as dodgy as his disposal by foot.

"Next year is the lowest year of his contract,~450. After that he still has 4 years on 900."
So average 5 yrs at ~800.
You'd need Collingwood to chip in at least $1m

$1M is what the Filth reportedly owe him from the last 5 years, which they have backdated and repeatedly renegotiated pushing the cash back.
That's why his contract is so bloody big.

Would you do something like this?
2020
Pick 8 --> Pick 18 + 19 (Brisbane)
Pick 18 --> Saad
Pick 19 + 30 --> Treloar + Stephenson

2021
First Rounder + Future 1st --> Merrett

I would think that with Williams, Treloar and Merrett all coming in hopefully within two years, we would need to trade someone like Dow. He would get no opportunity in that midfield, but still has some trade value left in him. 2021 is another super draft, so to trade him for a second rounder (or future 2nd if done this year) plus a 3rd, wouldn't be a bad idea in my opinion.

Thoughts on the whole 2 year strategy?
With what money? Wed lose players to bring those 4 in.

They have a ridiculous amount of money to move on.
The 4 players mentioned account for nearly 1/5 of their salary cap.

Saw Nick Austin at Parkside Cafe in Parkville this morning.

Walked in with $8.

Walked out with 17 coffees and 18 breakfast muffins.

Not sure what it means.

It means that greedy bastard is having two muffins, OR someone is going in dry.
