Big game this... .

Pies pair Lauren Brazzale and Ruby Schleicher (if fit) notch up 50 games this week as their team takes on the ladder-leading Lions.

Will Brisbane be crowned minor premiers, or can the Pies swoop on top four? Will be very difficult to beat them, have to be at their very best and even then not sure if good enough.

cracking game ..... pinball footy .... brazil has footy smarts in abundance

joanna lins courage cannot be questioned

Chaos footy vs basic footy skills so far. We’ve had a heap more footy, but the lions kicking and marking skills have been so much better. If we came close to matching them in terms of skill we’d have 4-5 goals on the board.

Great pressure from the girls, just decision making up forward needs work. Cant fault the effort, sheridan and lin having a decent crack.

Our F50 use is a dogs breakfast. You would think by now we would have some kind of system when going inside F50. So frustrating to watch our use of the footy going forward.....
With the odd exception here and there it’s the same issue since season 1. Without a dominant marking forward we need to be efficient and clean going inside 50 instead of just bombing or pressuring it forward in hope.

We're an absolute non event up forward....
Kicking and decision making doesn’t help. Two examples this quarter

  • kicking to a two on one where the one pie was the smallest player
  • kicking it over Brazill instead of in front of her.

Second quarter much like the first. Dominant for the first 10 minutes without looking like capitalising, fold like a cheap suit for the last 5 minutes and concede multiple goals.

No Davey, Bonnici and Scleisher.....last week it was those three and Braz....
You can't beat top sides without your best 4 players in this comp.

Girls trying hard (as always) but the engine room is severely compromised and we're playing our best half back up forward.
Gran always said "You can't pull your socks up if you're not wearing any" .... the cupboards bare again.

Pretty simple to analyse AFLW games. All the bullshit stats and game plans etc that the commentary and players interviewed like to spout is laughable.
Whichever team has the best disposal efficiency wins.
Sabrina Frederick having zero footy IQ doesn't help either.

Surely after this season there is a reset of the team. Looks like we will play another elimination final, and on current form not advance.
Symonds as coach needs to be looked at, Fredrick, Downie and Chiocci thanks for your service. Molloy what she worth as a trade. Other players who have been there awhile eg Fowler, need to be assessed if they're worth keeping on the list or moved on. We need to try and attract one of the key forwards from an opposition club, like Wardlaw, Wakefield or a Shierlaw. I would also try to get King back to the club.
This team hasn't advanced in the last few years, we have had long-term injuries to two key players, but we still should be much more competitive against the better teams, and we simply aren't. The ball use and F50 usage is very poor....

the free kick against sheridan was a head scratcher

strength conditioning (or lack of it) is a constant theme in all our losses this year ..... adelaide, north and this game (also evident in the tight win against geelong)..... the bigger stronger teams simply out muscle us in the contest

brisbane delivery is sharp, direct and purposeful .... their talls are dominating all over the ground

think its time teams start paying serious attention at whats happening in queensland womens comps .... whatever it is its working
