Dragons Captain, LJP86, Could be Captaining Last Game writes Sam Samuelson...
Long standing Southern Dragons captain, Ljp86 is on the verge of being sensationally overthrown by his playing group. In what would be one of the biggest stories to rock the SFA in modern times, the revered leader's reign will likely come to an end, as early as next week. Close sources have it on good authority that the playing group is leading a charge to install SFA stalwart and league admin boncer34 as the new captain of the Dragons.
The Dragons players are understood to have been plotting to have the captain replaced for some time, citing the lack of available ability from the posters behind him as the reason for the delay. Although Easty has been waiting in the wings for some time, and was seen by some as the logical next captain, the feeling within the playing group is that he lacks the fortitude for captaincy. One Dragons player was recently overheard saying "If I wanted a captain like Easty, I would have moved to the Demons long ago."
The securing of Boncer in the mid season trade period raised many eyebrows. With the Dragons surprisingly demanding a seasoned poster in return for the poster that was subjected to harassment from members of his own team, Boncer stepped in to solve the issue. To some, Boncer was seen as making a sacrifice on behalf of the league. Others thought he was chasing more premierships. But the Dragons players, who have been working behind the scenes to secure a big name, saw it as an opportunity.
Boncer has been a leader at many clubs, has experienced captaincy and administration, and has won multiple premierships. Despite LJP's success and longevity as a player, he has failed to lead the Dragons to a premiership. Like Fremantle, the Dragons faithful see this as their opportunity to be taken seriously, and believe that Boncer could lead them to premiership success this season.
Stay tuned.

The Dragons, who sit on top of the SFA ladder after round 12, are hungry for their maiden premiership. Previously known as home and away specialists, the Dragon players are disillusioned with the leadership and direction of the club. Recent controversies have highlighted the leadership dramas at the club, including the handling of the RUL case, their lack of mental strength in finals, and their failure to hold onto big name players. Some newer members to the SFA ranks also question the absenteeism of the head honcho.
