Berwick a sneaky chance?

oh rowey no no no no
Watched them against Beacy and they got smashed and looked very slow.

Not sure if Aussie is still thinking of a comeback but his boys were very good especially fletcher and taylor from the backline just giving them some very good drive.

I don't particularly rate Berwick, but they are the next best to Cranny and Narre and maybe they could pull off a surprise in a knock-out final. Maybe.

Early impressions are that the league isn't as strong as previous years.

So he has left there twice then.

Yes, Buskaya was at H.P when Chapel coached there, then when Chapel departed to Pearcedale he got Buskaya there, for more cash i'd imagine, then back to H.P until his current move to Narre.
Doubt Narre wouldve offered him more cash, more so cos H.P where sinking & Narre are a better club with consistent success.

Originally from W.A & Keysborough was his 1st club in Victoria l think.

How do l know all this you ask?

l met him at a Security course a few years ago.

Considering the uproar of Buskaya leaving Hampton Park to Join Narre this season, kicking 15 aginst his former club last weekend sure rubs a fair bit of salt into the wound.

Fair enough Buskaya left due to not being paid but what about all the seasons he played there & did get paid?

Kerem, as hard as it is to beleive was beaten, only deserved to kick 5 max but the amount of 1 way traffic in the 2nd half he was always going to end up with a few.

the other 2 ex hp boys werent spotted for the day

Pakenham in good hands with joey lenders coaching the rest of the year, hes a great teacher and will be good for the young blokes especially.he wont put up with any crap either.

The income stream of the pokies has been cut because the Paky was in debt and sold there old Football Clubroom( which was the pokies venue) to the Racing Club.

If that is wrong then I apolgise but that is the goss around town.

This is incorrect, the football club has guranteed income for the next 10 or more (not sure of exact details) years from the pokies in some sort of lease agreement with the Racing club to take over their machines.

The MPNFL have released what the jumpers look like in the upcoming Casey Cardinia League vs Nepean League this Sunday at Berwick.

Sponsored by Melbourne and Western Bulldogs...

Well done GVFL on retaining the number 1 ranking in the VCFL!!!! Great contest all day. Final score GVFL 12.17.89 def MPNFL 11.10.76
Best on Ground Medals for each team went to Linc Wellington and Byron Barry. I thought Barry was BOG.
Great effort by all you MPNFL players, officials and supporters who made the trek up to Shepparton...I am glad the weather cleared up a bit today and I hope a great day was had by you all. I am sure you will be good enough to win next year so hope to see you back at Deakin in 2 years time!

Love to know the side in this league that has left Ryan White to rot and sit out the season as he no longer wants to play under the new coaching staff and wants to move on an play with some mates. Not a very good look for the club moving forward.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

You mean Tooradin? He is a contracted and required player for the club. They rejected all his clearances to Qld and also to his brothers new team -Tongala- for that reason. VCFL contracts are pretty tight. Anyway he played his first game since 5th may for TD on the weekend. Kicked a goal an was in the best for them in their great win vs Berwick!

Now where does that leave berwick?

Great come from behind win today from Tooradin! 5-6 goals down with about 10-12 mins on the clock and got over the line against Doveton!

Narre gave Cranny a lesson i see.
Anyone watch the game? Was planning on heading down, but didnt go in the end.
What happened?
Were Cranny understrength, or Narre just too good

Holt kicked a lazy 22goals to take his tally to 116, was only against HP but still good effort, & Baskaya kicked 9 & is now just 2 shy of the ton!
When was the last time 2 forwards kicked a ton in the same season in the Casey league?

Cassett at Doveton & Clarke at Narre the year Doves won the Flag under Steve Henwwod?

Cassett and Clarkes 100's would be worth 300 compared to Holt's and Baskaya's 100's this year. No disrepect intended but the standard of opposition this year has been very ordinary... Not just Hampton Park either, the overall standard of this league has dropped off badly compared for 5 or 6 years ago.

Coming to the business end of year and even though it is a bit lopsided it looks as if Toner has brought himself some premiership glory with the Hampton Park boys all firing and Sumalis showing his real quality. They crunched Crannie last time and should do it again. Can Tooradin upset Crannie? Will Collins win the medal?
Should be a good finals series but it looks as if Narres experienced players will get them over the line? what do you think?

A good finals series? Any season when you know the Grand Finalists before a ball is kicked in anger is a JOKE. Not a healthy league situation at all. Narre will win the flag and get they went out and paid for.

Will be an interesting finals series, and the Narre v Tooradin game this week could give a better indication!

Cranny v Tooradin and Beacy v Berwick in the first week of the finals. It's interesting that the league has scheduled both matches for Saturday. Pretty sure it used to be a Saturday/Sunday split over the last few years. Wonder why they changed it.

According to the fixture the games are on separate days....
