Wonders Captain ShaunDuggan had a spare 6 hours to have a quick minute with milestone man ClarkeM in the lead up to his 150th career game.
SD: Hey Clarkie, congratulations on the 150th. How would you describe your journey to this point in your career?
CM: Thanks Duggan. Yeah it’s been a bit of a long and idiotic ride I guess. When I got lured to the league by Tarkyn_24, I remember asking about a million questions because I still just did not understand exactly how the game worked. I assumed it was all done on an online game that we could control but it seems I was entirely wrong. I never thought that I’d reach 150 games and it was something I was looking forward a lot. However it was Season 13 that I really model my career around. Alongside Croweater41, I captained the Wonders for a Pre-Season cup, the Premiership cup and then solely captained Vic Country to its second State of Origin in a row. I've toned it down a fair bit lately and am doing 95% of my posting from my phone so I'm growing up a bit in the real world I guess. I's hard to maintain activity after 150 games!

SD: Over the course of your career who has had the biggest influence on your career to date? Alcohol excluded.
CM: As modest as I can be, it would definitely have to be myself. I really have myself to blame and thank for what has been a career filled with many hours of pointless posting. Alcohol has only helped in certain situations such as when Croweater would constantly nag me for not knowing half my team despite being co-captain or even each time Sweet Undies posted. It helped me get through these tough times.
But seriously, someone that I would have to thank would definitely have to be Rick18. He has been the biggest influence on my existence in the league to date you could say. Many new people here might be ignorant to who he was but he was the captain of the Wonders many years ago and after my family moved to a new town and I was to begin my VCE at a private school that required 3-4 hours of homework a night. I decided then and there that I had to make a few sacrifices for my studies and as a result, I announced my intention to retire on the SFA board. After a couple of more days, I decided that I had made the right decision and hung up the boots officially to only have Rick18 tell me something along the lines of “You don’t have to post anymore but I’m going to keep you on the list anyway.” I initially was unsure of his plan but it turned out to be a masterstroke as after a fair few months, I found enough time to post on the board and the rest is history. I think I was only about 50 or so games in when I decided to hang up the keyboard but I do thank Rick18 for basically refusing to let me retire.

SD: A lot of love for Rick18. Speaking of love, during the Wonders end of season 13 players trip, there was an incident at a Thailand nightclub, care to share with us a bit about that?
CM: Well it all started with this idea from HawkPatrol after he kept recommending the women in Thailand are to “go balls deep over.” It didn’t take us long to realise what he meant by that after our first night there, we were met by some of his girlfriends. I’m not one to judge but let’s just say it was a night a few of the young ones would want to regret! Wmoore thought it’d be a great idea to steal a bottle of Jack Daniels from behind the bar at Girl Pong Bar and so that eventually ended up in him enjoying his night with HawkPatrol and their company. Let’s just say they weren’t too far short off a full on BBQ with a lot of meat being the main objective of the night. Croweater41 and I were happy to sit back with EKA and fellow veteran Rick18 and enjoy a few scotches. Then came 5pm and it was time to head out and get wild. That’s all I can remember from that night but I do remember something about a mongoose bike, some guy called Bruce and 4 used condoms but I’ll spare yourself the embarrassment and I’ll keep that between us I guess.
Are you ever going to let the public know about your urges or will we just let it slide under the table, again?
