Wikipedia: Clenbuterol is not an ingredient of any therapeutic drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration[1] and is now banned for IOC-tested athletes.[2] In the US, administration of clenbuterol to any animal that could be used as food for human consumption is banned by the FDA.

It causes an increase in aerobic capacity, central nervous system stimulation, blood pressure, and oxygen transportation. It increases the rate at which body fat is metabolized while increasing the body's BMR. It is commonly used for smooth muscle-relaxant properties as a bronchodilator and tocolytic.

Clenbuterol is also prescribed for treatment of horses, but equine use is usually the liquid form.

Is also prescribed by the guys at my gym who wear a lot of adidas gear and still wear "bumbags" :thumbsu:

It's disappointing that this information can be leaked by official investigations -if we remember the Ahmed Saad case was also leaked to Caro. The relevant authorities have much to answer.

No chance of us making the finals you spag pocket!!!
Don't make me commit CONSENSUAL sexual violence with your Mum again....

If they haven't posted here before now, how could you know about them pouring scorn on HTB & every thread?

Aha! bomber board lurker!
They certainly have posted here.

So what do we know?

Positive test taken on 10 Feb Ings has stated
Pies were in NZ on a training camp on 6 Feb (HS article)
Clenbuterol has a half life of a day and a half
NZ does not have beef contamination issues

We will need to see the concentration levels to get a better idea, but doesn't look good?

The AFL is turning into a joke. How many more PED cases are going to surface? The integrity of this game is just about in crisis right now.
Something something chickens.

Something something home to roost.

There's two options, really:

- Collingwood dropped it now to ensure they cop less than a days's heat before the torch returns to Essendon (by far the most likely IMO)

- the AFL and/or ASADA have released it now to move some of the spotlight off tomorrow's announcement.

IMO there is no way in hell it's a coincidence. No way in hell.

Impossible to disagree with.

No joke.

Countries use this in meat products - although apparently there is a warning of this in the doping code.

Don't jump to conclusions until we know the facts.
Am not jumping to conclusions- haven't they tested positive to a banned drug? A PED.
It was a poor excuse in 1990. Now its just lol.

Not buying into the whole Essendon/ Collingwood thing. Two completely different things.

The upcoming media conference will be interesting to see what is said. Heads won't be buried in the sand and if B samples are positive without proper explanation as to why (contaminated food the only plausible option you'd suspect) than that's it, Thomas and Keeffe will be delisted without further questions as they should be.
