Does the AFL want to be a genuinely national competition?

AFL has not been a competition for years has it?

I thought is was a revenue generating machine in the entertainment and political business.

End thread.

The AFL will do whatever will maximise revenue and has been since Day 1 when West Coast and Christopher Skase were invited into the comp simply so the VFL could bank $8 million in license fees to pay down debt from clubs who were nearly bankrupt, some insolvent.

the simple solution is as i have been saying for a while now. make the AFL run it. As long as NSW and QLD clubs run the academies they must get something back.

Which is why the AFL gives them to you.

The AFL wants to prop the northern teams up and make them more successful than they would normally be, because that's the only way those teams will have fans turn up on a regular basis and be anywhere close to viable.

It's been explained multiple times why the clubs run them now and it isn't because of your crank theories either.

No, you've explained the spin.

So we're meant to believe that Sydney 'just happens' to be on the winning side of all these moves by the AFL...by some amazing coincidence.
