Seriously though!

Congratulations to serial_thrilla for not only winning the BnF here at the Dragons and also derailing my dreams of going back to back.

Now do me a favour and if my club this season Dragons makes any mistakes, call them out in private before trial by fire?

🐲🥂 Presenting: The Pie 4 Life Medal 🐲🥂

It is now time to present the Pie 4 Life Medal, named after naturally, the great man Pie 4 Life. The Pie 4 Life Medal is effectively the best clubperson, a member of the team that consistently shows up, gives their all and represents all the best qualities of a Qooty player and person donning the Dragons FFC guernsey; someone you would happily go to war with, but equally settle down for a pint with at Crocodile Drunkees.

The winner here may surprise, as our medal recipient actually played less games than many on our list...

Give it up for our winner of the Pie 4 Life medal... DragoDelph!

Drago has proven himself to be a superb individual and servant of the Dragons FFC. From Round 3 to Round 10, Drago actually wasn't a listed Dragon, as he went off on a tour of the reserves for various SFA clubs, sampling the various clubs and their match threads and even blessing them with reports on how he, as an outsider, found the experience and any recommendations he might have. Despite this sabbatical though, Drago retained the Dragon fire within his heart and kept in touch with us and even showed up to our match thread to check in. And, once listed again, he returned with a vengeance, providing insane post counts (averaging 100+ posts) and engagement in our match threads.

Drago's quality is well known around the league and while he was technically around less for us in S36, his presence was still keenly felt. Not only that, but captain Greenery's endorsement of the man as his second in command for the upcoming season speaks for itself.

Congrats DragoDelph, here's to you! 🥂
Wait… what?
Just put it in reverse

🐲🥂 Presenting: Ljp86 Medal (Redux) 🐲🥂

Okay folks, for real this time, it's now time to announce the big one of tonight. The result may not be too surprising. Our winner was dominant on the Qooty field, but was hugely dominant off the Qooty field as well.

Yes, I am thrilled to announce the winner of the Season 36 Dragons Best and Fairest, the Ljp86 Medal, is none other than...

serial_thrilla (again)!

Having already been the winner of this respective award last season, it's fair to say serial has form and also clearly consistency. Bringing him all the way to the final big award this evening, was a consistent and high output all season off the field. serial is well known around the league for not only being highly active (and the thorn in the side of many a would-be rule flouter, which he ESPECIALLY showed this season), but also consistently high quality posting that combines a versatility across topics, a cutting wit and a sprinkling (or perhaps some would argue, a Niagara Falls) of evil genius somewhere in there too.

The irony somewhat is that the former skipper has considered himself in a more relaxed holiday type mode since stepping down from captain duties, but really he hasn't lost a yard of pace at all, metaphorically speaking. May our Ljp86 Medallist have another tilt at the beez? Who knows, but regardless our serial is a top notch contributor to the Dragons and to the wider league as a whole, and there is no doubting his quality. It should also be noted that this season serial did return to the leadership group, providing as always, excellent guidance and a great steadier of the ship. Not only that, but serial continues to bring in new rookies to the club, keeping the new blood ticking over nicely (even if they ARE pretty much always Purple!)

Here's to you, serial_thrilla, the Season 36 Ljp86 Medallist. Congratulations on yet another fine season and well deserved award! 🥂

Fantastic stuff T2B_ for a great count, another super night for the club. :thumbsu:

Congratulations to serial_thrilla on claiming the best and fairest award and also to DragoDelph on claiming the Pie 4 Life medal. Congratulations also to PhenomenalV1 on a super season to win the Hatchy1992 Medal for leading goalkicker and to Drizzy and big_icky for winning the Blaze Storm Medal as the club's best first season players. And lastly, a big congratulations to Ligma on claiming the Knifey Spoony Encouragement Award and for stepping up to the club's leadership group for Season 37. :thumbsu:

Season 36 had some mixed results but we did well to make finals after being in a bit of a precarious position in the latter part of the season so to have played one final is a reasonable effort. We did show some good form at times in Season 36 so hopefully we can build on that for Season 37! :thumbsu:

Go Dragons!! :thumbsu:

🐲🥂 Presenting: The Blaze Storm Medal 🥂🐲

The Blaze Storm Medal represents the best year player at the Dragons, i.e the best of the rooks.

Last season, we had the fine rookies in Ge3ks and prpl_jss (Purple Jesus) running around, so our rooks in S36 had some shoes to fill.

The winner of this fine award?

Well once again....

Drizzy and big_icky are joint winners!

With 14 and 13.33 posts per match respectively, Drizzy and big_icky finished mighty close in the posting department. big_icky started off the season like a house on fire, hitting 30-40 posts in the first handful of weeks before the big ol' IRL would get in the way, while Drizzy would fire up more in the middle to later half of the season. It's fair to say Drizzy worked into things very well, considering he was as new to BigFooty overall as he was to the SFA. Both rookies brought their own brand of wit and personality to the table though.

On the Qooty field they also had some strong performances, even when occasionally playing off the bench in an already super strong competitive Dragons lineup. Both would play all 15 games of the season, including the final, with big_icky averaging 17 disposals, taking 62 marks and kicking 11 goals 2 behinds, and also having equal high Frees Against (17) for the club, making one wonder if his name is really biff_icky. Drizzy would average 14 disposals playing more deeper forward, taking 68 marks and kicking 14 goals, 10 behinds.

All in all, it was hard to split the two, so the powers that be at the Dragons decided that both were deserving of recognition on a fine season. So Drizzy and big_icky, go forth and fight/celebrate over the medal! 🏅
Im sorry I missed this. Thanks for the honour skip!
