My wife is looking to move to the UK to work as a teacher. We've been planning on her going for 6 months and me staying in Australia, as I've been making great strides in my career.
But over the past couple of weeks I've had to reassess and rather than look for another job I am now thinking of going to the UK with the wife and finding work in finance. Possibly extend our stay there to 12 months if I go too.
I would ideally like to work at a broking firm, hedge or investment fund or maybe even a bank. Not worried about what I'd do there, happy to take on an entry level role as I'm mostly looking for a short-term change of scenery while my wife ticks something off her bucket list.
Has anyone worked in the finance sector in the UK? Are there employment opportunities or am I going to struggle?
