There's some, um, interesting videos on YouTube of Miesha Tate's next opponent, if you care to check. She's fighting on the upcoming Hunt/Nelson fight in Japan. They also said today that Gomi, Sexyama and Yamamoto are all scheduled for that show, with Faber being the hopeful opponent for Kid if he comes out unscathed against Caceres next weekend. Faber/Kid was a bit of a dream fight back in 2008.

Yamamoto and Akiyama are still with the UFC?! I understand pandering to the local market, but both have been very underwhelming since signing... Yamamoto in particular who has looked like a shadow of his former self. I'd be afraid for him if they do match him with Faber now!

Did my "research" on Nakai ...seems like an interesting lady. Wins over D'Allellio and La Rosa suggest she can fight too.

What are you saying? Does she do something other then MMA?:confused:

:drunk::D

Tell us you guys have been smashing him, right? :D

My fingers are crossed for him this weekend, i'll be keeping an eye out to see if I can spot Jamie at the weigh in or in his corner. :thumbsu:
Chris is phenomenal. Such a humble good bloke. Strong grappler, good takedowns. He always works hard. Has being doing a fair bit of elite training. He certainly picked up a swag of techniques during his run on UFC nations. He deserves some success

Please tell me he's going to use them. He did a great job of hanging in there against Chad on the show while on the feet, but from memory didn't even attempt a takedown. I haven't seen his fight with Rich, but remember reading that he was content again to keep it on the feet.

I don't know what tactics he'll go with but I'm hoping he will play his strengths. He strikes hard too but from me just watching him train and rolling with him his take downs and grappling are sharp, fast and cause pain. :) Like I said he is such a hard worker. I really hope he shines today.

I'd like to see a great fight. Both seemed like really down to Earth, humble guys on the show and I get the feeling this is a loser leaves town fight. Hoping they both can put on a show and hopefully convince the UFC to keep them both around.

Marquardt's comfortably more accomplished and rounded than Te Huna but I thought the size difference and Nate's chin getting cracked in his last two fights might have been enough to edge it into Te Huna's favour. Obviously not.

Palelei's got really heavy ground and pound and decent wrestling but little else, Rosholt's a better wrestler and was always going to be a bad match-up for him. I'm still shaking my head at Goldberg saying Palelei is almost as accomplished at striking as Hunt. And that came after introducing Jonah Lomu as an all-time great Australian Rules footballer.

Former welterweight takes on former light heavyweight at middleweight. It was bizarre all round really. Having said that Nate is a former contender, Te Huna is not.

I was shocked that Te Huna was favourite for this fight... it's like the odds makers forgot just how good Nate was at 185. Te Huna is bigger, but I felt like Nate had an advantage on the feet and on the ground and it showed in the end.

Rosholt's performance surprised me though, I didn't think he'd be good enough to keep Soa from getting on top of him and pounding him out. Dominant performance and a big step back for Palelei after a couple of good showings in a row.

Oliveira looked fantastic against Hioki. I fully expected him to be shut down by Hioki's stifling top game, but he showed great defense as well as slick offense as soon as he had the chance.

Whitaker looked much improved from his fight against Thompson. I remember being super bummed by that performance as I think he could definitely have won if he had used his ground game rather than trying to stand with a striking specialist. He mixed it up well and used his jab to great effect.

Not a chance with Bedford, not on a ref ****-up like that.
I actually think if the ref had stopped it immediately (which was his first instinct) then it was a fair stoppage, as he definitely went down like a felled tree. It was the indecision and second-guessing that was the real * up, and means Bedford has a case.
