Hello everyone and welcome to episode 2 of the best new SFA show. Tonight, my guest has flown in all the way from Baghdad to join me. Entering his second season in the SFA, he has quickly become one of the intergral players in the Bombers line up, coming off a tough game in the Grand Final re-match where he was crucial to the Bomber fight back with 15 kicks and a goal. He was apart of Bagdhad's premiership win last year but more importantly, he has recently come out on top in the Inaugral Mario Kart Race. Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome ThePuppetMaster.

Thanks Filthy, good to FINALLY be here - why wasn't I the first guest?

Just kidding, but seriously.

Always the joker is Puppet, but we must get down to business. I understand winning a premiership in your first year of SFA footy must have been an incredible achievement; but surely winning Mario Kart would have to be the greatest moment in your entire life.

The Mario Kart Victory is no doubt my greatest personal achievement in the SFA, but that's only because I don't consider the premiership an achievement of my own - it's a team achievement

hearts: Bombers)

However, in terms of my life's greatest achievements - I have wasted two years of my life studying a horrendous university course (Arts lulz) and have managed not to neck myself; I consider that an outstanding achievement.

Also that time I beat a bunch of fat Indians to win an indoor cricket grand final.

Oh! I also made Eggs Benedict the other day - basically flawless on my first attempt, so come at me bro's.

It was on a bagel, with salmon.

Eggs benedict how scrumptious! There's no doubt you have many hidden talents Puppet. My only question is why do you keep them so hidden?

Oh, my hidden talents are almost innumerable - but we can't blow the load on them too quickly can we?

But I mean you've become a key part of a premiership team in a short space of time, you're a kart enthusiast ontop of that and yet nobody seems to rate you in the top echelon of posters. You didn’t even register a vote in the EKA last season. How do you explain that?

The lack of EKA votes came as a slight surprise (especially given some of the vote getters and where they are know... eh, THB?), but one that didn't really phase me - I enjoy contributing to the Bombers and the SFA; and I feel I've been getting good recognition from some sectors since my strong finish to last season - admittedly I had a patch bordering on inactive for five or so rounds in the middle of S14.

I do have a theory of titled 'EKA: The Conspiracy'; but perhaps that is best left for another time - it prominently features GFW guest Wise Guy Sam.

One way I'm focusing on to improve my standing is to create more discussion on the general SFA board; I'm exploring new ways of doing this as I don't really want to re-hash ranking or media threads which others do a great job of; the only problem is that new ideas can often be hit and miss - but I'm sure I'll find something worthwhile over the course of S15!

One of my theories is that you will only get so far in Baghdad. Beez is arguably the most prolific player in the league. It must be hard to step out his shadow and make a name for yourself. Would you be better off at a club say like the Gumbies where you could make ThePuppetMaster a household name rather than be a support act in Baghdad?

I've had that theory put to me by a couple of posters, and while theoretically it might have some merit - it's ignorant of reasons why I came to Baghdad in the first place.

I actually signed with the Hawks for my debut season, before a plea from SKM citing the lack of contributors at Baghdad caused a change of heart (you hearing me Tom Scully?) - I also saw it as an opportunity to help re-build a club with a core group of posters which I now feel (especially with the addition of okey and MP) compares well with all SFA clubs.

(That aspect also appealed to me as I had been building a club in the failed West Gate Trolls bid. RIP)

I'm not sure I'd get the same enjoyment out of posting at the Gumbies (not meant as a pot shot gents) as I do at the Bombers, which is also important.

I'm sure if I and my teammates continue to improve our posting there's more then enough room for a few 'elite' posters at Baghdad.

Well I’m being told by my producer (isn’t that me??) that we need to take a quick break. Stay with us Puppet and don’t go anywhere folks as we start from where we left off right after these messages.

Yes it's that time again. Time to announce next week's guest. Well here's a hint. GFW IS my show. But next week that gets put the test as East Side Co-Captain makes his way to GFW. He is one of the most antagonistic players in the SFA and one of the most prolific. Can't figure it out yet? It's Itsmyshow!!!

NOW ON WITH THE SHOW!!! (my show that is)

Puppet just before the break you briefly spoke of the Trolls, and just like my wise guest last week, I can detect a tinge of disappointment and sadness at what took place at West Gate. After being apart of the failed attempt at launching a new club are you now cautious to the other calls for expansion?

I think expansion is still an interesting concept, I do understand the idea, particularly of boncer, that it's better to look after the current SFA clubs before considering additions to the league.

If it's done properly - and I'm with WGS in thinking the Trolls were not set up properly, not quite set up to fail, but that there would have been a steep learning curve for our group - there's no real reason for the admins to reject the notion.

That said, the odds of it being done 'properly' really aren't that high given my ideal model for expansion.

- 2x 'elite' posters
- 3x 'known' posters
- 5x promising posters - from inside of the SFA (ie. Judas' who want better positions)
- 15x complete newbz and filler
- A rotational policy - with no exemptions; this is absolutely key for the first season of an expansion team.

Anyone thinking about launching an expansion bid - that's what you'll have to get done if you don't want the team to be a laughing stock.

There was definitely some disappointment from the Trolls, particularly the guys who were quite vocal and put in effort to the bid; myself, WGS, DJ and nickgrant (who is serving our country these days) - but, with hindsight, I think we can all agree it was done in the best interests of the SFA.

I'd hate to be a part of a Trolls team with 4-5 contributors and a bunch of Matt121's.

So I guess to answer your question, I place myself more in the realistic camp than the 'cautious' camp.

Puppet, I apologise for harping on about the same topic but I’ve got some more questions with expansion.

Not at all, it's an interesting topic; clearly you can see I've given it some thought considering my blue-print for an ideal bid.

And that blueprint stems to my next question; knowing that expansion would need a core of well known posters, I see you as the perfect candidate for a new club. With all due respect, you are not the heartbeat of Bagdhad. To me, being a pioneer of a new club would only improve your game, you could easily be a leader there. Does this entice you at all? Particuarly knowing becomeing the marquee player and potential leader may be very hard to come by if you choose to stay in Bagdhad.

At the moment I don't think I'd be attracted to the idea, the rejection of the Trolls bid is still fresh in my mind.

On the flipside, I remember how much I enjoyed the bidding process.

Currently I'm really enjoying my time at the Bombers, and still building a name in the league - I don't think getting ahead of myself and trying to bite off too much responsibility is a good move at this point.

I can say with some confidence I'll be with the Bombers for the foreseeable future.

So in that case let's look at the leaders in Baghdad. At the end of Season 14 we saw loopy_cam step down to give beez full control. Many of us don't see much of loopy as he's busily administrating the matches, could you give us an idea of what loopy means to Baghdad. What sort of impact did he have on you as captain in your first season?

loopy is very much a 'cult-figure' down at Baghdad, he's the first to admit that he can't contribute to the team as regularly as he would have liked due to his various SFA and real life commitments.

He sets a brilliant example with his commitment to the league and it's an example that I was really impressed with once I began to learn the ropes of the SFA and the roles of certain posters - I've learnt from his posting as well, he has a great sense of timing and knows how to challenge posters respectfully; he's rightly one of the most respected posters in the SFA.

I've made it a goal to replicate loopy's commitment to the league in my commitment to the Bombers.

Just on beez; it's probably better for the club, in it's current state, to have a captain who will lead through words as well as actions - but loopy will always be a leader purely through his actions.

Now Puppet despite loopy’s leadership you've just come off the back of a hard fought loss in the Grand Final re-match against the Demons. Does this serve as a wake up call for the Bombers. Were you perhaps a bit too relaxed going into the season?

I think we were a bit too 'comfortable' coming into the GF rematch - and possibly even into the season itself; we'd blown away team after team of late and in our last encounter with the Demons we won quite convincingly.

I think it needs to be acknowledged that our spine has had a real shake up from the one that brought us the premiership - and it hasn't as yet been a seamless transition.

thomas_m18, Matt121, Jonts and doogiesin08 have been replaced by okey, Mannum Power, HHH and goodie23.

That said the Dees played a very good brand of footy and most of our players weren't allowed the time and space needed to stamp their authority on the game until the latter stages - and by then it was too late.

Judging by the way you’ve started the year Puppet, obviously you are a success story of the Baghdad mould, but one of your peers Stkildaman has copped alot of criticism over the journey. Is the knock on his game fair? How does it impact on you as a teammate? We're seeing with the Hawks at the moment that boncer and IMS being over protective of HG. Are you weary of this becoming a distraction on the club, particularly with back to back premiership aspirations in Bagdahd.

As a club we're pretty confident that SKM can handle himself, we rate him as a poster and we don't feel the need to defend him at every opportunity - unlike the Hawks and a few of their 'boys'.

This ultimately stems from the fact that we know SKM contribute well for us; I'm not so sure IMS and boncer have that same confidence - hence their manic defense of certain 'posters'.

SKM has let himself down in the past - more through a lack of follow up than actual ability, he knows this and is improving accordingly.

Yes, I too can see that SKM is improving as a contributor to Baghdad. And to me, it seems to be that he is doing what guys like Fev and Cousins, can't do stay out of the spotlight. The reason I bring this up is because that spotlight seems to be taken up by you these days Puppet, however how do you defend claims that the attention you've got has come from all the wrong areas? I mean karting, suriviouring, what do you say to the SFA players who have been here for many seasons who say that today's players focus too much on social media, (What's on your mind?), meaningless competitions and other sports, I mean just this week we've seen RUL set up a golfing competition. Is all of this too much? Are we taking away from the real reason why we're all here?

Hmm, it's interesting. Ultimately the posters who have been around here longer will have to change - adapt to the youth that are coming through and accept what gains their interest (apart from the fantasy football of course).

It's just the way it is.

I do, however, subscribe to the theory that IN SEASON there should be as little distractions from the football as possible.

Some of the older posters like to look at things in black and white, when in reality there is a significant portion of grey area where improving the league is concerned.

Personally I acknowledge that I've garnered some attention from the 'extra-curricular' activities of the pre-season; but I'm looking forward to keeping up my form and contributions over the season in a more traditional sense.

And I'm sure you will Puppet. Now as you just mentioned tradition it's time to keep up with this show's tradition. And to do so we will unfortuneately have to give acknowledgement to the elephant currently taking occupancy in the room. It is no secret that Okeydoke7 has rubbed me up the wrong way since arrival. That in itself is a major feat since nobody loves a rub down more I do.

To celebrate Okey's induction into the Filthy Society (yep we've got a group for the inductees) I have collaborated with Carly Simon as we sing our new #1 hit.

You walked into the SFA
Like you had just banged Marklar's mum,
You made articles about your return,
You created hundreds of uselss polls,
You had one eye on the other threads,
Then made the same thread with your name,
And all the players, they read them quickly,
They read them quickly and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

Wasn't that fantastic!

Quite the lyrical wordsmith you are there Filthy ... almost as good as Kanye - but not quite.
But seriously we must get down to business Puppet. I'm Filthy with Okey as last week his egotistical ways scaled to new heights last week as he created a medal that only he is allowed to give votes on. But that's not all he named the awards after....

Wait for it

HIMSELF!

That part particuarly caught me off guard. Anyway that's enough from me what's your take on okey Puppet as a teammate of yours? Particuarly his last attempt to get the SFA talking about himself. That's right ladies and gents, for the first time ever one my guests will be giving the "Filth Rating" to his own teammate. Remember the categories at your disposal here Puppet.

SPOTLESS - CLEAN - NEUTRAL - DIRTY - FILTHY.

For the rating of my teammate I give him an absolutely FILTHY rating!!!

But don't mistake that for hate, I have a lot of love for Okey - we love his filthy ways down at Baghdad and we hope he continues to create headlines, controversy and perhaps most importantly - orgies.

He's like Bovver in Green Street Hooligans - loyal, fierce and generally hilarious - (except not a judas) and while others may love to hate him we simply love him!

Well there you go, once again we've run out of time. Tonight I called BATTER UP! and ThePuppetMaster stepped up to the plate. Thankyou TPM, thankyou all for tuning in and don't forget to watch next week as IMS walks among the land of the Filth. Just before we go, let's once again here the lovely voice of Carly Simon!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble TPM but you didn't make Eggs Benedict at all, sounds like you made Eggs Alantic (or Eggs Hemingway if you prefer). Idiot. :p

Another good episode of Getting Filthy With. The real test will now be to continue with this fine work.

I found it quite entertaining.

I really enjoyed TPM getting more air time. I didn't enjoy Filthy's song.

I'm not going to lie. I got bored reading that.

I probably won't tune in next week anyway... don't think there's much to ask IMS that he hasn't already put out there before.

Actually... I disagree..

I liked it.

The parts about skm were meh and I glossed over but the rest was good.

I think you really dealt with the problems from week 1 and spiced it up a little.

TPM was a great first year poster and highly sort after.

Too bad about the trolls but enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the matter and future expansion.

Looking forward to getting filthy again next week :D
