Most definitely. And that's not a knock on Keays, because....

he knows his kicks will be terrible so he may as well make them high risk/high reward too

I'm going to word that in a more Keays-friendly way...

His first - only, really - instinct is to immediately move the ball forward and hopefully in the general direction of a teammate by any means. This is a good thing; as I have said before, if I'm a teammate seeing Ben go into a contest, I'm getting goal side of that contest asap because that's where the ball is going to be.

I'm guessing Rachele's was the 1.83 and Rankine's was the 2.63 so the data bears this out. Of course that doesn't take into account that Rankine was snapping off his left while moving away, which increases the difficulty.

P - Goal from General Play
S - Set Shot
L - Goal from Loose Ball Get

The number is expected points. So if you are a 50/50 shot for Goal vs Behind it will be 3.5 (hence set shots from the goal square being 5.99, almost certain goal, 1 in 500 misses).

1.83 indicates 16% of shots from there in general play would be a goal. Rachele put his straight through the middle.
