Good -
First half intensity
Rachele
Keays

Bad-
2nd half
Goalkicking
Umpiring
Lack of run in aforementioned 2nd half

Ugly-
Moments of Hinge and ROB.
Rankine's kicking for goal

The good: we'll get another top five pick again this year

The bad: we'll probably piss it away on another small forward

Time to go Brodie Smith

Terrible:-
That we could not over run a side with about 17 fit players in the last 1/4 in 38 degree heat is horrifying.. that our kicking skills fell off a cliff in the second half was disgusting and that we allowed their primary mids to come out of centre every single time unhindered and no change up or tag...an ugly ugly day for the club and nicks in particular

Outcoached and outprepared by a debutant coach. Kingsley said before the match that they planned to pace themselves and not go full pelt for the whole match due to the conditions. We went hard early, put up 5.12, and that was it. Our opponent had no bench for a half, in 34 degrees, and yet we were gassed? That's preparation and coaching.

Apart from some class from Rachele and Rankine, nothing of note has changed. We still don't have a midfield (as in, a proper full time midfield), we have a ruckman who is literally a liability, we can't stop momentum, when challenged we look like headless chooks, and we play our best player off half back.

Pre season form has never meant anything, and it means even less these days. Not sure why all of a sudden this year it was supposed to be revealing.

Game should have been over at half time. Poor kicking cost you there and then.

However when you don’t bat deep in the midfield and rely on a few, when those few are down and out of the contest.. makes it hard. GWS have a class on-ball division. Where it was lost.

Both SA coaches under major pressure, but if more of the same, Nicks will be gone before Ken. Completely unacceptable.

Rachele and Pedlar fantastic.

Momentum killing brainfades absolutely bad.

Wasting all those opportunities in the first half killed us.

Not recognising that the umpires weren't doing us favours but kept giving them reasons to pay against us.

How many times did they find a free target in their F50? They let us off the hook so many times but we ignored it then got lethal.

How many times did we allow them to get the tap off the back and sweep around to win the clearance?

We got beaten by two things:

Low IQ plays and inaccurate kicking. That's on the players.

Absolutely woeful defensive structures and inability to react quickly to the warning signs. That's on the coaching staff.

I think this feeling is up there with 2020

Pedler, rachele and rankine look set to make us a better team than last year but wow our midfield is still a fair way off.

Laird won’t have many games like that. Shoenberg fumbles far too often and makes bad decisions by foot.

As bad as it was we could have finished off the game by quarter time if we have kicked straight.

girly effort

A far, far worse effort than these women have ever put in.
