Yep- as stated elsewhere-
in a strange way I feel (the most teeny weeny bit) sorry for Albert- he is copping the full brunt of the essendon saga- while Bomber and Goodwin carry on their merry way.

IMO- the essendon board should resign and all senior coaching staff involved in the program should never be involved at senior level AFL again.

I heard someone say that he had been upfront about it when Melbourne interviewed him and they were satisfied with whatever he said.

Don't see how a gambling addication is relevant, but agree that they are all tainted and none of them should be involved in coaching again. And if Melbourne wind up wearing it, and Gold Coast, making appointments knowing what they know now, that would be fine.

Actually, I think this is a valid point.

Given the "good stuff" quotes, and the fact that he was obviously involved in the bombers 'supplement' scandal to some degree, I find it surprising that he has scored another gig, and possibly that of senior coach.
To be blunt, I think it suggests that in this industry this behaviour is accepted as normal. You would think that the perception that he might have done wrong would tarnish his image.
Not so apparently. And I'm not pointing the finger at the demons, but I had expected some outrage in the media at this appointment.
So if James leaves the bombers, will another club hire him?

Perhaps he won't be given keys to the medicine cabinet, or have any say in what supplements players may or may not be given. Regardless, i think it is a bit questionable having him at the club, even from an image point of view. And if the 34 players are suspended, I can't see the coaches behind it getting away scot-free.

Can only imagine Goodwin must be much better at the coaching thing than he has ever been given public credit for. Because I can't imagine there are too many going around with such a *variety* of public 'errors of judgement' (gambling, Hexarelin and assault are a compelling trifecta) that are signing 5-year coaching contracts, let alone transitioning into senior positions. He must know what he's on about.
