Injury Harris Andrews injury updates :(

Oh. I must have misread.

I should have made it more clear. My worry is that in attempting to run over 15km during the match at a higher intensity he'll become ill as a result of the concussion.

Playing in the 2s we could limit him to say 12km and if we need to bench him because he's unwell then it doesn't matter so much. He gets through the game then he should be right to go in the seniors.

I understand erring on the side of caution - but you'd think the neurosurgeon and other specialists know more than we do and wouldn't clear him to play if he couldn't run out the game without the possibility of being ill

It sounded like Frost and Goose were cleared to play but couldn't get through a training session without feeling ill.

I imagine we'll probably want him to get through a training session or two first as well.

still so much researchers don't know about head trauma. To suggest a few docs would know what's best is laughable. Could get 10 different opinions from 10 different docs. Play it safe... no need to rush him back in.

I would hardly call a Neurosurgeon, one of a few docs SM, they are specialists in their field.

Why bother making a statement like that? It's clear you just made that up and have no idea what you're actually talking about. This isn't a GP that Andrews and the club are talking to.

I actually outsource all my medical decisions to bigfooty.

sorry, please explain what part is incorrect? I assume you are saying the information on head trauma is very well understood and all relevant practitioners are up to date with this ever evolving field of science? you're an idiot :drunk: Things we thought we knew 2 years ago are no longer accepted. Happens in almost all fields of science but especially the medical where it is very subjective.

It's why I both play through the pain while taking the rest of the season off.

But trust me, don't ask Dodongo for any advice on more sensitive medical issues... He always insists you only need one of everything.

Cheers for the insult, your broad statements almost made me change my mind for a second :D. I have years of experience in traumatic brain injuries and why would you assume me calling you out for saying something stupid means that I am saying "All relevant practitioners are up to date", that is a silly assumption. You could apply that statement to any field of work. Neurosurgery is subjective... Ever head of evidence based practice?

Oh dear, you really have no idea what you're talking about.

I would stop posting on this topic if I were you, you aren't well educated on the topic at all.

Can’t way for SM to bring up the fact he was shouted down next week. I love it so many shout downs must be something in the water

If/when he plays again, I'll be thrilled for him. But I'll still have that tiny fear of something going wrong, which will hopefully lessen over time as nothing happens to him.

That moment when you realise you are arguing with an actual brain trauma specialist :D

at training this morning Harris was doing sprints, marking and lots of laps. Doesn't seem to be having problems.

The club is absolutely not going to risk him. If there is any doubt whatsoever they will not play him this year but if a controlled return to play training schedule introduced slowly goes ok they will. The club know even better than we fans that he is one of our most valuable assets.
