It's a bit of a joke that the jumper punch is acceptable when some poor guys get rubbed out for accidental bumps. In my opinion he has a case to answer for, but won't get suspended because of the inconsistent approach of the MRP.

So this is the suspension we need to barrack for this week, is it?

The slow motion replay makes it look bad.
In terms of force it's no different to Mitch Robinson's hit on Taylor Adams.
And he got two weeks.
Didn't Varcoe punch a bloke twice like this in one game against and didn't even get reprimanded?
Robinson must have had a bad record and points left over to cop two weeks for that, surely.
Right......Should be gone, well and truly enough force to receive a week.
Very, very lucky that Stratts took it like a man and didn't drop like most players would have after the contact.
Wont get a week, finals, Geelong, only forward etc
But there clearly was something in it.No chance of getting suspended. Not because he's a Geelong player, not because he's a star player and it's finals, not because he's their only forward but because there was nothing in it.
Pathetic thread.
That's not really a punishment. The players won't really care about fines. They only care about missing games.Probably the type of thing that should attract a fine.
Whilst I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it copping a suspension, I'm not comfortable that you can get a whack in the jaw like that intentionally and outside the play. That's just being a thug.
