Jumper clash fails

Is this a new home jumper for the Roos?

Otherwise what is the objection to Carlton wearing navy shorts, and the Roos wearing their normal white with royal blue vertical stripes jumper with white shorts? Is it really just the obsession with away team wearing white shorts!!??

It’s a Good Friday jumper, for the kids and has some purple and green (RCH colors).

We’ve known for two weeks they were wearing it so why on earth didn’t Carlton wear their clash.

It’s not the worst clash but it’s genuinely idiotic

You could wear your white shorts with the black jumper and it would still solve the problem

Except it wouldn’t. Predominantly black vs predominantly black (or navy blue) doesn’t magically become better when you switch which team has the white shorts on.

But better than Essendon & Carlton wearing white shorts with white in Pies jumper…just saying

But not as good as those teams wearing an appropriate clash jumper when the away team, as Collingwood always does.

Should be an easy process: Home team nominates their jumper, the AFL tells them which shorts to wear and which jumper/shorts the away team wears.

Pies as the away team, we use our white jumper with white shorts and there is NEVER any clash with clubs playing in black/navy. Ginny having a day out in the white kit last ANZAC day.

But when we are home we play in our black jumper, and you get idiotic scenarios like below....because the AFL lets clubs play in "white shorts" to solve a clash of jumpers.

Time for the AFL to bin the old legacy "away white shorts" crap.

this is fine tbh. Navy blue vs black that we see five times a year is worse
Case in point:

On paper this is a massive clash but it was pretty much fine in practice. They made the wise choice of not putting Carlton into white shorts which would've created more of a clash. Since this game our home kit has gotten whiter and we use a brighter shade of blue, too.
