Sorry bout the full Yaco but I'm on the phone. I was really uncomfortable with that video of the players with Worsfold in the board room. Either its a total waste of time or they're giving away stuff that was best kept in-house.

I hope that dig at Freo doesn't come back to bite us. I'm also concerned about the focus on the two WA sides in his comments, other than the premiers. I mean why not have a crack at Doggies for being too one dimensional in the opposite way to Freo? Why have a crack at anyone?

I just don't get fans and the media thinking they have the right to know stuff like inner workings or injuries. Yes there are some things that should be communicated but many things are better kept in-house, and will inevitably come out in the wash anyway.

A crack? He simply put examples of a team that has developed one side of their game to be the best in the league, and saying that it takes more than just defence to win a premiership then lists the hawks who are one of the best at both. He sees this club as a club who has a great defence but lacks strong forward pressure.

He's just engaging with the players and telling them his idea of how a team should be run. I don't have a problem with it

Can someone tell me why media are saying the plane trip was a waste of time? Is that because he was always going to join us?

need a Larry David stare gif here.... but would never disrespect one by cutting it under 1meg

Yes, that's probably it. What did he mean?
He was saying that he was up to date with all the detail and it wasn't necessary to convince him. Basically, he was already interested and it wasn't the deciding factor.

Was just about the favourite part of the presser for me. Sitting right next to the CEO and Chairman, I felt he didn't hold back, gave some strong honest feedback. I liked it, he's not going to be a push over which is good considering how our club is run.

I think woosh is the perfect coach for your team right now. Pleased to see he got the job... he will be no nonsense and a good rock around which to base the future challenges upon.

Bonus points because of the old rivalry between west coast and Essendon... will he wave the jacket at Subiaco a' la seedy?

Good luck everyone.

If it comes with that light and quick Myers we saw in his only proper quarter for the season, and Hocking doing his best impersonator of a bull like he did against Collingwood and we add some midfield depth in Couglan we're actually looking good in the middle next year.

If Jobe is firing he demands their tagger and will still have an impact. That means Myers and Heppell probably won't be tagged and can rack it up. If Hocking does a good job on their top mid then we're going well in there. We can afford to play Goddard forward of the ball as high half forward where he can use his work rate, marking, reading of the play and disposal to be very damaging.

That fit and slim Myers we saw adds to the outside. Couglan showed in VFL that he can extract and spread well, which is a massive upgrade on Howlett, who is either a defensive forward and Shuey/Murphy tagging specialist or out. That means Stanton is well down the pecking order to tag and should be able to get a fair bit of it. Colyer, Zaka, Zerret and the other young guys coming through add a lot of run to the midfield.

That knock on effect is massive. As part of our push for more scoring Jobe resting forward will be great, Goddard's leadership, Daniher after another season in the gym and hopefully McKernan is played as a forward who gives ruckman a chop out.

We can rebound fairly quickly if we're finally awarded some injury luck. There will also likely be 4 picks in the top 30 added to the list.

While I'm very much wait and see regards what sort of match day coaching Worsfold will unveil I'm expecting a fit and strong team, reinvigorated from a change in atmosphere at the club with WADA behind us and with a point to prove.

On top of that we will have a soft draw, unless all if the bottom 6 improve out of sight, and this could see us build enough momentum to sneak into the finals. Who knows with a bit of luck we will be gifted a victory by having Richmond as the opponent in week 1!!!
Great post.
