This is my big call for the year:
It's true. The Lions are now the new "handbag" side of the comp. We like to come out and look flashy, and when everything's going alright, we look fantastic. They're great in their comfort zone, you have to admit. But take them out of it, and they are only there for show.
You can ALMOST bet that they'll win comfortably, in the next two rounds. We're always strong against Fremantle at the Gabba, and our good record against Geelong should get us across the line the week after (although, I wouldn't recommend betting too much on either of those games, just at this stage!).
You can just as well bet, that if they do win, they'll be back in that comfort zone, thinking they are worthy of a "top 4 side" tag.
I'm not sure who we play after that - but you can bet, if it's an interstate game, or a game against a team determined to come out and take it up to us, you can be sure we'll fold like a stack of cards (not that Fremantle and Geelong aren't determined - we've just been able to have it over them in the recent past).
The Lions are definitely the new handbag side in the AFL.
