Does anyone know how much one would expect to pay for this service. I am considering making an offer on a 2009 model that has 88K on the clock. I would need to have this value included in any offer.

That seems a crazy price for a Getz. Our 7.2L trucks costs about that for a service. Did you try any other dealers?$900 at a Hyundai dealer and $650 at Kmart tyre and auto for those wondering.
It does seem crazy , it is the timing belt change and a lot of inspections. I rang 3 Hyundai dealers and Kmart. Hyundai were consistently $910.That seems a crazy price for a Getz. Our 7.2L trucks costs about that for a service. Did you try any other dealers?
Fair enough I suppose, are they a belt or a chain? It does seem crazy , it is the timing belt change and a lot of inspections. I rang 3 Hyundai dealers and Kmart. Hyundai were consistently $910.
Would have no idea.Fair enough I suppose, are they a belt or a chain?
Belt by the looks of it, they wouldn't be that hard by the Looks of it, $140 for a belt kit, if you have anyone with a bit of mechanical know how can be easily done.Would have no idea.
The car salesman is already saying he can get the 90 000 Km service done for $400 with his trade discounts. I don't really want to get a car that has been had excessively cheap parts put in. Not sure if the getz needs special coolant or anything like that. I remember with a ford festiva I was told that cheap coolant could lead to corrosion of the engine.Belt by the looks of it, they wouldn't be that hard by the Looks of it, $140 for a belt kit, if you have anyone with a bit of mechanical know how can be easily done.

But hey offer them a grand less and see how you go.
Yeah sounds like a good idea, for some reason cars ales people don't instill me with a lot of confidence. The car salesman is already saying he can get the 90 000 Km service done for $400 with his trade discounts. I would be inclined to offer $500 less then get the $650 service at Kmart. I am paying a little more but I trust Kmart more than a second hand car dealer.
We've had numerous getz's, they are great for their money.Whatever I buy will be inspected by RAA first so hopefully I will try to quiz him as much as possible.
