Not getting to see SANFL and obviously as he isn't getting much time when he is in the 1's, how has he developed? I get the idea he's not rated that highly?

From what little I've seen he seems more Aussie Jones than Anthony Stevens.. Has he just got too much competition at Port? Is this guy AFL standard? I'm curious if he'd even be worth North having a pick at?

He gets a lot of the ball and is a fairly good player at SANFL level, but he gets lost at AFL level and doesnt really know what to do.
I think he will get dropped at the end of the year if he isnt traded.

What Macca actually meant to say is that Michael Stevens is an obviously gifted player who unluckily cannot crack into Port's highly impressive midfield rotation at present. He would be an ideal trade for ... say ... Byron Pickett. ;)

Well, in the copy of Power To The People which I scored last week, there were a couple of quotes...

Mark Williams says
He is one of the most improved players in the club. He has worked and continues to work really hard to establish himself as an AFL player.

We were really pleased to have Michael play in the Wizard Cup grand final and we look forward to him being a vital part of our push in 2002.

He has a fantastic, unique ability to be able to run fast and long distances, so that makes him a special sort of player. He is a competitive player and he has really developed his understanding of the game.

We think he can play in quite a few different rolls - he can certainly play on ball, on the wing and he is long kicking footballer who puts the opposition defence under a lot of pressure.

My translation: He's trying fairly hard, he can run pretty fast, and can kick long. I like players that can kick long. We're not sure where to play him yet, because all he really can do well is run and kick but has a few major weaknesses. Reminder to self: Don't recruit players because of one good TAC Cup grand final (at least not until rookie listing).

Fitness coach Andrew Russell says...
When I came to the club, Michael was the most talented pure runner here. This year he has transferred that talent and has actually become our most diverse running player, in that he has a rare blend of speed and endurance.

Although he has improved significantly this year, he is probably not aware even himself of how good he could be, given his consistently high level of training this year continues.

He still needs to work on his strength levels to become the complete player from a condition point of view.

My translation: He can run a lot, which is good. He could be better, but he doesn't back himself enough. He has very little body strength which inhibits his game and confidence.

But sure, we'll trade him for Byron Pickett. :D

HB: Pickett Mead Hardwick
B: Wilson Paxman Wanganeen

Muahahahaha

Hey Porthos, do you do translations on real estate guides too? Superb! :D

BTW, I kinda like the idea of a HF line of Pickett Tredrea Dew.;)

Now me, I'd like to hear it too....watching the Power House on Fox Footy really makes me think that Wilbur would be one of the most irritating sledgers in the game :D

And real estate isn't a speciality, sorry Ford
