He was the same in the intra club - no energy. Remember his QLD issue I reckon he is just one those guys who cant cope with the heat. Either that or
hes been kissing Bailey and has Glandular Fever also, because he has been terrible in both games.

MG has aleady said it is just the NAB cup. But you dont have to see much of a group to know we are a long long way off playing finals footy. We have a tough start to year and could 0 & 5 after the first 5 rounds and young teams cant afford those confidence dents.

One positive for me out of game was Jade Gresham will be a player. Having said that Ryan Clarke for North taken later in the draft looked superior and has more size to make an impact - so jury is still out on 2015 trade/draft for me?
Replace Delaney with Carlisle and we would of looked alot closer to a finals team this year.
Relax enjoy our mids and Bruce and expect the number 1 opposition forward to kick 5 if Fisher goes down.
Expecting Goddard to take the number 1 is like expecting paddy to kick 5 each week got to wait at least a couple more years

Paddy is in his second year now and is a number 1 draft pick, should be kicking 5 a week

Yes it's 7. Which is more than 3.

Jacobs, Hansen, Thompson, Brown, NDS, Gibson, Goldstein (7).

compared to

Roo, Armo, Joey, Fisher, Roberton, Geary, Longer (7).
That's true, but what's also true is that we had just 3 in our side who have played 100 games today, while North had 12, which is a huge advantage.

Both sides were missing a similar number of their best 22, but it's much easier to cover those losses when you still have a dozen in your side who have played 100 games, compared to just 3 remaining for the other side. Of our 3, Jack Steven hardly played any of the game and Sam Gilbert copped a knee to the kidney area early on and didn't play after that, so it was pretty much 12 to 1 for a big chunk of the game. It was not far off being like a fit, senior, battle hardened top 4 AFL team that's been hit with a handful of injuries playing against an under 23's side.

Delaney and Lee were given an opportunity today. Lee gave everything and came back on injuried. Delaney looked like a 110kg moving tackle bag

Hope everyone can see why we chased Carlisle so hard.

Can't believe the melts on this thread.

Some people really are just laughable

Fair point GJD...we'll start favourites for that one and should hae a stronger side.

Positives from today: Gresham (Will play Round 1 on that form) Ross (becoming a ball magnet) and the kids exposed to a Top 4 midfield

Negatives: A few niggly injuries, our defence leaked badly and we cant expect a 30+ yo to come back and save the day, and our major ball winners just turned it over far too much or chose poor options.

I reckon Brent Harvey has played more games than half of the boys out there today combined.

Someone look that up and post your results lol
Harvey (409)

Coughlan (0), Gresham (0), Holmes (3), McCartin (6), Goddard (8), Acres (10), Templeton (12), Lee (13), Lonie (17), Sinclair (18), Shenton (24), Curren (25), Billings (25), Dunstan (35), Ross (37), Webster (39), Hickey (41), Bruce (46), Delaney (59) = 418

So yeah, Harvey has played just about as many games as 19 of the players in our team today combined.

Where was Carlisle today Joffa? The SaInts trading for him is the only laughable feat acheived in recent times!

Can virtually discount the second half.
Attack on the footy was good and with quicker ball movement our forwards looked dangerous.
Acres is definitely coming on, Seb busted his gut all game and Gresh is a player. Thought Holmesy competed well in the ruck and looked to follow up his work.
We just lack that grunt and polish in the middle - some of which will change with Armo back in the side.
All in all a lot to like.

Hey guys, how did the following go?

Billings, Acres, Ross, Gresham?
Billings only played a half, had 10 touches and was just class.

Acres good without being great. Couple good things, couple poor decisions.

Ross was probably our best with Newnes & savage.

Gresham was very good, surely plays round 1
