As a result it has turned into a 'who can find the most obscure location' contest - I have no idea where most of these teams are located.

not sure who owns Dampier Red Dogs but a word of advice for next time is if you are gonna use my shorts and socks off my template don't forget to remove the drop shadows from them. It just looks odd if you have drop shadows on your shorts and socks but not jumper.

Anyway how good is this reserves comp!!! This is at seniors quality imo, Ive got high expectations now for the seniors.

Yeah that was me. I am going to create shorts and socks later but, it was a race against time so just picked some up off yours hope you don't mind!

I feel like my designs are a bit inadequate now.
Could have done more and been a bit more adventurous, maybe chucked a background on it, rather than a grey backing.

Wouldn't worry too much about it as 12 out of the 20 have plain white/grey background.

Nope, some backgrounds may actually do the opposite and turn me off the design, but never help get a design across the line.

Presentation is playing an ever increasing role in these comps IMO. I was compelled to try and come up with something better for the NAFL after just going with the grey gradient for the last two comps.

I'm sure people don't vote for the backgrounds, but putting a little extra effort in isn't exactly going to hurt, as long as it doesn't hide the design itself.

The extra background is distracting from the main purpose of the image. The focus should solely be on the kits.

Another thing that irritates me is seeing a banner over the top of the kits. Again the main focus should be the actual design and not some colour over the top of it.

The other thing, with so many people using the same template (cheers El_Scorcho!), a bit of differentiation is nice. They can all look a bit same-ey otherwise.

And makes it stand out a little more.

I'm never going to look at someones design and think...

"A plain background!? Booo!! You're not getting my vote!"

But this is also a defacto general design forum/board, and its nice to see what people come up with in this regard.
