What are your number one and two sources for news and views on current happenings?

Why do you prefer them over the rest?

What are your source's ideological dispositions- left/centre left/centrist/ centre right/ right

Are you a paid subscriber? (If relevant)

I'm an Age subscriber.

Because I enjoy the rantings of right wing cranks who unsuccessfully attempted getting Matthew Guy elected.

(Or something like that, according to the crew in the Vic election thread).

The Age combines what I value- depth, nuance, different perspectives, investigative journalism, a mix of Melbourne, Australian and international news.

It leans slightly left/progressive, but that's OK because it's superior to anything right of centre. And a more user-friendly interface than the ABC.

And Facebook where I follow a range of public figures and organisations, albeit they enter my feed via the malevolent algorithm.

Paid subscription to The Guardian (plus The Saturday Paper and The Monthly)

Cancelled The Age in middle of 2019.

I've read Guardian stuff occasionally. Not much of the others

Why do you prefer these three over The Age?

The Age increased its news bureau articles at the expense of local journalism. There still is some very good articles, but the remainder I found to be very lazy research and commercially driven in it's presentation.
