I don't understand how being a rookie takes the pressure off. All it seems to signal to a player is that he has his last chance. As far as I can tell Long has been dedicated to his rehab and is being struck by bad luck. He probably doesn't need the head**** of a demotion.
Now that he is at training and over the worst of his injuries I'd say he wont be going anywhere.
Long is essentially a new draft pick anyway. The advantage we have is that we are in complete control of his body (unlike anyone who could walk through the door).
We need to know that we can't get him right before doing anything dramatic. Robinson wouldn't have been brought in if improvements didn't need to be made to our strength and conditioning.
