I am trying to put a photo I took on the internet but it needs to be 100kb or less. The photo I have is about 500kb. How can get it smaller?

You need image editing software, download a freeware program called IrfanView from here: http://www.irfanview.com/ It should be pretty straight forward from there

download the free xp power toys, image resizer which gives you a right click function where you can resize any pic.
