Potential for an earlier start to the season/ representative game etc. in late Feb?

Given there is no longer an official pre-season cup, AFLW at this time of year or really official matches with teams playing a couple of scratch matches it got me thinking whether there is a 'gap' in the calendar for slightly more football. This could be in the form of 1-2 extra matches, a representative game or open to other ideas (not AFLX pls).

Since the end of the Aus Open in Jan and to a lesser extent the Big Bash grand final it seems like theres been a real lack of professional sport until the NRL started last week.

Even sports fans can appreciate the time off in February to prepare for a season of footy, and the desperate can usually satisfy themselves with the American Sports. I guess some may also now appreciate when AFLW started in late January as it filled the gap knowing when they now end their season is easily dwarfed by men's trading/free agency/draft period.

I'd tune in for PNG vs NZ test. Won't risk hurting any AFL players either.
