Anyone have any idea of these two? Possible rookie material.
I think I remember we did something similar last year with a few Casey players invited to train with us. Would be part of the Casey relationship to support them too, not necessarily to trial them for rookie spots. From what I can tell, both played most of the season in the Dev League ... so definite rookie possibilities ... obviously they've seen something ...

Am I correct to assume that lack of training update is due to the intensity being so high it's destroyed all communications infrastructure state wide?
AFL.com have changed their story about Kane Mitchell winning the team's first to fourth year players' time trial. The original report was filled with crap about how Jimmy Toumpas, "considered one of Melbourne's elite runners", had struggled big time to come in sixth; an indictment on the difference in standards at the two clubs. I went in search of any previous mentionings of Toumpas winning any of our time trials and, after not finding any such mentions, came back to the article to copy and paste it here so that we could all ridicule their bias... only to find that they'd taken all that stuff out. Campaigners.
You sort of lost me at the bit where you said "anyone who has run their share of time trials...". I got embarrassed and felt I didn't belong here.I must have read the edited version ... because I was actually surprised there was no Melbourne bashing included in the article.
In regards to where Toumpas sat in our Time Trials ... i couldn't find any results from last year other than T.Mac won ahead of Howe and Viney, but watching the associated video, they showed the first dozen at about the halfway point, and I couldn't see Jimmy in there at all. It's pretty difficult to compare them anyway. Anyone who has run their share of time trials would tell you, times can be easily skewed by where you run, the surface and the type of track etc ... So Collingwood running their's this morning on a running track, will give better results than Port running theirs on what looks like a gravel bike path, and both would be a hell of a lot easier than GWS running their around an oval ... I always found grass could add a good 20-30 seconds without even noticing.

I did play my second game of AFL ever on the weekend though. I was every forward through lack of numbers. I crashed a pack of disgruntled seagulls. Big ones, mind. I kicked some stuff out on the full (I pass it off as my tribute to Grimes) and a behind, which I was well pleased with. Then I experimented with kicking on my left, but the ball hit me in the face and gave me a nosebleed. I self-imposed a blood rule and finished off the day at the pub
Good point. Phone placed on silent for the next few weeksYou'd wanna be careful with all that talk ... you're probably one more game self analysis away from being signed by Carlton as a Category B Rookie ...
Casey guys train with us every year, and I can't remember any of them ever being drafted or even talked about as prospects outside of BigFooty. Pretty sure it's entirely about the Casey relationship.
Sandringham. But I don't know if he ever trained with us.Didn't Danny Hughes get drafted from Casey? But yeah your pretty well spot on otherwise
