Planning to go to the Caulfield Cup on Saturday, what are the facilities/parking like? Will be a first time there

Depending upon where you are coming from it may be easier to catch the train. Usually there is heaps of parking on the street but they close the roads for the guineas and cup. Everyone will park in the middle of the track. Pro tip from an ex local if you must drive and don't mind walking a bit, is to park in behind the club rooms in east caulfield reserve. It is a few hundred metres down from the station but the road access is through Dudley street (off the city bound side of the princes). It is a km or so from the track, so no good if you are with girls with heels, but you avoid all the traffic getting out of the place by parking there and walking.

I reckon the facilities are top notch since they knocked down the old grandstand and opened the lawn right up the straight. I was a member and the last few times I went we possied up there and avoided the members area like the plague.

Liked Caulfield the best, the Melbourne metro tracks facilities are light years ahead of Morphetville.

To take it a step further, these are some of the tracks that horses i've had an ownership share in have raced at and i have been there to watch them run at varying speeds:

Had shares with mates and family from 17yo to mid 40's. Won from Flemington to Jerilderie and Burrembeet. Been with top trainers and small trainers. Most expensive horse was $36K and least expensive was $5K.

Done my dough on em all up, but had some big days, and weekends, and fun times galore. :(:confused::eek::oops:o_O:rolleyes::cry::drunk::straining::$:):D
