Round 1 Tips and Crowd Expectations

I agree, the GF rematch should be put off for later.
The opener should be AFL Premiers vs. a big club that is not the runner-up.
Hawthorn v Collingwood under lights at the 'G to start the season would be better.

Do you really think we should be building every "event" game round a Collingwood which is probably going to see a drop off in support?

The AFL are hoping to see Richmond fire. They want to build a big Carlton V Richmond Round 1 tradition and hitch it to the Tiger train. As it is the big crowds in recent years have been largely Richmond fans motivated by increased hope and the ancient rivalry with Carlton and the only hope Thursday has of hiting 80K is a massive away turnout.

The AFL want to hang their hat on Essendon and a revived Richmond as much as Collingwood because what happens if Collingwood blow up?

Lol, arguing over crowd sizes. The dick measuring contest for 2015.
The DM contest about which you rightly refer has been going on for years. It appears to be primarily a Victorian thing. I've never understood people's obsession with crowd figures and never will other than to presume that fans of big drawing clubs like Collingwood or Richmond get some strange personal gratification from choosing to follow a team with a lot of rusted ons.

I guess it's not your fault all the Dees supporters prefer Mount Bulla to watching the Dees play.
Wow. I can't believe it took a whole seven posts for the inevitable pot shot at a Melbourne supporter. How dare he have a legitimate opinion. His is not one of the " Big four " clubs. What we he know?

If Carlton beat us by 5 goals I wouldn't even be mad if we just didn't show up for the rest of the year to any games

Ha ha ha Righto Champ. Roos gonna beat us in our home deck by 58 points. I'll put 100k on that not happening. Care to bet with me?

Don't see you having an issue with a few wild tipsters having the Crows by ten goals. We'll see old chestnut.
