Well considering he was technically never the owner just a front man and that he was kicked out within 12 months by his partners, it was a pretty short association.

Yes I was amazed when I learned the truth. In fact the VFL were shocked when they found out...which happened when supposedly the money for the licence never was paid.

Edelston was actually broke when they sold him the Swans. He couldn't pay the full $2.9m cash component.

So to save face the vfl agreed to let him set up the licence under a public company and brought in the mining company to stump up the cash on the hush hush.

His partners bought the Swans for exposure in Sydney and all they saw was Edelsten and cheerleaders. No one heard of Westeq even until this day.They ended up cutting ties pretty quickly with the Dr. He was 'sacked' within a year.

Bloody incompetence of the VFL was astounding. They were so desperate for money.
