Assumption College Kilmore who are the Herald Sun champions for 2008 were beaten by Sacred Heart College in SA on sunday by 5 goals. (88-56) SA is an underestimated strenght in school football, with Assumption being obviously the best if not one of the best in Victoria, and Sacred heart being one of the strongest in SA- shows that the SA comp is as good if not better than the Victorian school football competitions. Thoughts?

You will find ACK played their Grand Final prior to meeting Sacred Heart and we never took that game too seriously as opposed to a Herald Shield Final?

ACK consider this annual match as one of their big matches during the season...of course they wanted to win this...but the reality is that Sacred Heart is a major college in SA that doesnt have the competitors like ACK has in attracting top young footballers.
If you want to play college football at the highest level in SA you go to SHS or a few others. If you want to play college football at the highest level in Vic, you could go to any number of schools (ACK, EKC, Xavier, St Pats, PEGS, St Bernards, Bendigo, De La Salle, Box Hill, etc etc etc etc)
Nonetheless, ACK generally take it up to SHS in the annual encounters.
The home advantage - plus the travel factor - has to be taken into account as well. Both ways

Jimmy_is_an_idiot: Love them or hate them ACK have historically been the most dominant college football team in Victoria. With 10 Herald Sun Shield victories from 30 possible and with only one or two other teams winning it more than once, calling them shit is just stupid.
